My daughter's asked for a couple college dorm things for Christmas, and one thing she's requested is a set of sheets /duvet cover from PB Teen or PB Kids or something like that. They're fairly expensive (about $140 for the whole thing), and I've never bought from this company. Is the quality worth that price? I don't mind paying for quality, but I don't want to buy her linens that'll fall apart in no time.

I haven't ordered from them recently, but we have sheets and duvets from about 10 years ago that are in great shape still. I'd recommend them unless you read somewhere that the quality has gone downhill.

In my opinion, they are of average quality. With most things Pottery Barn, I think you are paying more for the brand name than with the quality of things like linens, towels, etc. They are better quality than the Seventeen brand bedding items found at JC Penny. I find the sheets tend to shrink and over time tend to tear with pulling to put on beds. If she really loves them, I would probably go with them, only being because everything else I've tried that is less expensive is cheaper quality as well. Stuff just isn't quality to last over time anymore overall.

I don't know but some of the stuff is questionable. Like the backpacks, lunchboxes, etc. I went to the store directly to check out the stuff. The quilts and sheet look pretty good, can't really comment on quality as I have not bought any yet.

My 15yodd wants a quilt set from PB Teen as a Christmas present. I keep waiting for her set to go on sale. It was on sale last yr and I should have bought it then.

I have been happy with everything that we have ever bought from there. I never had any trouble with anything shrinking or colors fading or anything like that.

My kids have had Pottery Barn Kids sheets in the past, and I had problems with them wrinkling at the top border--even if I take them out of the dryer right away. I don't have the time or inclination to iron sheets, and the wrinkling really bugged me.

Buy her sheets from Spalena instead, superior quality & they don't wrinkle.

Regarding PB quilts, we've had ours for about 5 years, they still good and the colors haven't fade but I recommend checking on their sale stuff first. As good as it is, I wouldn't pay full price for it.

I keep looking and will pay sale price. Thanks for the review.:)

I have bought several sets from Pottery Barn Teen. I think that they last as long as any other sheets that I have bought other places. What I like about them is that their colors/patterns are designed for what my teen and college aged daughters want. Their brighter colors coordinate with things better than what I could find at other stores. The one drawback is that they are not very soft. Higher thread count sheets are softer so I am pretty sure that PB Teen sheets have a low thread count. Absent the color preference, the price should be determined by the thread count so these are probably a little over priced.

We've loved our Pottery barn stuff - my girls had several sets when they had twin beds and now DD17 has a full set on her bed - sheets, quilt, pillow shams, and the rug that matches them. I've been very happy with the quality.

I might buy less expensive sheets and get the accent pieces from PB, though - unless she really wants everything to match, in which case I'd spring for one set of PB sheets and get a plain set as well. Always nice to have a second set at school that doesn't need such special care as an expensive set does.

PB TEEN has stuff on sale finally!!! I am going to order the quilt as it is 20% off quilts (not sheets) plus free shipping today.:woohoo:
