Polar Patio at Blizzard Beach...in February

I had a Polar Patio in the past, but it was spring break and HOT. It was a nice respite, plus I enjoyed having family privacy.

We are planning on a Blizzard Beach day in early February. Would it be a huge waste of money to reserve one? I know the price would be lower, the park not open as long, etc. I'm sure we would even have our pick of any free seating. However, I keep going back to the privacy and having a home base line of thinking.

Anyone rent one in the winter months? Thoughts? General comments welcome, too. I know "worth" is subjective, but really curious if it is even a bigger waste in the winter than in the busier/hotter times.

It’s personal but, if this is something you enjoy then you may wish to book it.

The big unknown if February is weather. If it’s a hot day then I would anticipate BB bring busy, especially as it’s been closed for over 2 1/2 years so is anticipated to be busy when it reopens.

We’ve been to TL in December on a nice day and it was busy.

If you want the family space and a place to land, I would book and hope to it nice weather.

Thank you! I did not realize it had been closed that long!

Wondering if you ended up renting one and what the cost is? I am planning on renting one in March.

Does anyone know if standard patios were converted into premium patios or is there a new area that houses the premium patios.

I got a premium patio the other day, it was one of the standard patios we had in the past. I didn't do an exhaustive walk-around to confirm this so don't take this as absolute fact, but my impression is the few patios that were in covered structures were made into what they are calling premium patios and the ones that were just seating w/ an umbrella (no physical roof structure) are as-is.

I didn't see any new areas or structures, like they did at TL, but I'll caveat again I didn't walk the whole park. Next time I'm there I'll do a better job of walking around to make sure.

Thanks for the information. Where was your patio located? Do you remember the number of the patio you had? I am trying to determine if the numbers have remained the same.

It was 11. The app map isn’t drawn to scale or with 100% accuracy, but it’s approx the structure here:

@GADisneyDad14 - it looks like (in case I'm missing it) that they went back to having to call to book instead of online :(

I'm still seeing it:

Standard: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/blizzard-beach/polar-patios-standard/

Premium: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/blizzard-beach/polar-patios-premium/

If not make sure you're using a private browser option like Incognito in Chrome... if I don't I sometimes have old WDW pages still show up.

Hope that helps!

@GADisneyDad14 (or others) - OP here - rather than make a new thread, I thought I'd ask your opinion directly. If you could only choose one, would you reserve a Polar Patio or a cabana at the GF?

We probably will only have one dedicated day for either. Blizzard Beach is included in our ticket, so entrance fee doesn't have to be factored in.

Finally, are the cabanas 60+10? I could not remember.

THANKS

I LOVE the water parks so I’m on Team BB. The GF pool is nice and all, and the cabanas are a nice resort day total relaxation splurge… but I’d rather spend time with the water park action, IMHO.

But if you’re not into water parks and sitting by the pool relaxing is more the desired speed, then GF would be totally fine too. They make strong drinks there (if inclined). :-)

Thanks! I knew you'd come through. :D
