Just getting the hang of posting photos here. Here are a few from our stay at VWL a couple weeks ago. I am very pleased with the renovation, though I wish they had put a pull down bunk or sleep chair in the one bedrooms.

Thanks for posting the photos. Can't wait til the end of January to be there!

Very nice. Thank you. Any progress to the pool area that you could see?

There you go. You got it. Posting the pictures worked out great. I like it better than the link. These are such good pictures. I'm glad you decided to share them this way.

The pool area was totally fenced in and enclosed when we were there so we didn't see anything. Looking forward to the finished product.

Yes, it's absolutely crazy that the studios officially sleep 5 and the 1BR sleeps 4! Only Disney could pull that one off. :confused3

Thanks for posting the photos. :)

Just look at the living room photo. That door to the connecting bedroom makes it impossible to put in the murphy bed like they have in the studio. Not enough room. And not enough room for the twin sized sleeper chair.

They would have to remove the eating counter and the two chairs there. And there still might not be enough room. The sleeper chair is a lot wider than that upholstered chair in the living room.

Especially wouldn't happen in the dedicated two bedroom because in an emergency, the chair would block the exit from the second bedroom.

I guess I see what you mean. Good observation. Are the one bedrooms at BLT and AKV that much larger than VWL? We've stayed in 1 bedrooms in all three and I guess I hadn't noticed that much size difference in the living rooms.

If :confused:I'm remembering correctly the connecting door inside those isn't in the living room but just in the hallway when you walk in the villa door...

That's how I remember it. :)

JessLCH - Thanks for the pictures. If the flooring is that new vinyl, I think it is the same thing I recently picked out for my kitchen!

If you look at the OP's pictures, you can see the connecting door in the living room area. I've stayed at so many different DVC resorts that they tend to run together in my mind, but I know that there are some where the connecting door is in the front hallway. But VWL connecting door is as shown.

I think the overall square footage is very similar in all three resorts, but Disney definitely made the living rooms bigger at BLT and AKV at the expense of the master bedroom size. IMHO, it was a very good decision.

I agree, but since they were ripping things up anyway during the refurb, it seems that they could have eliminated the counter and I think that would have given them enough leeway to either get the sleeper chair or drop down bed in there.

Oh, this answers my question too, I was hoping for a sleeper chair in the 1BR too :(
