I need something easy to prepare and that will be a real crowd pleaser for a bbq next weekend. any suggestions?

My husband loves the pasta salad from Ruby Tuesday and I found this copycat recipe.

HAM AND PEA PASTA SALAD

1 lb Spiral Pasta, cooked, drained (3 lbs by weight after cooking)
2 cups diced turkey ham
2 cups frozen peas
1 cup (1/4-inch diced) green peppers
2 cups mayonnaise
1 cup ranch dressing
salt and pepper to taste

Stir together the pasta, ham, peas, and green pepper.

Combine the mayonnaise and ranch dressing and stir into pasta mixture. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Makes approximately 1 gallon

I have a really easy one that people seem to like. It's not fancy or anything, but only takes about 15 minutes to make:

1 pound tri-colored pasta (the spiral ones, can't remember the name), boiled and cooled
1 package grape tomatoes
1 can sliced olives
1 pound mozzarella cheese, cut in cubes
A couple of squirts of Zesty Italian dressing
A couple of tablespoons of McCormick's Salad Supreme.

Mix it all together. Adjust the dressing and Salad Supreme to your tastes.

Done and yummy!

My favorite and most requested side dish:

Pasta
Mayo
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Dill
Parmesan Cheese (I use Kraft in this recipe)
Salt
Pepper

Mix ingredients to taste. I never measure.
Sometimes I'll add chopped tomato as well.
It's yummy fresh or refrigerated.

Kimya

The one I make and my family loves is:

Tri-colored pasta
Siced olives
Diced ham/turkey ham
Generous amount of your favorite Italian dressing.

the one thats sitting in the fridge right now has-

multi color pasta
salami
olives
tomatoes
red onion
marinated artichoke hearts (along with the marinade)
multi color bell peppers
parmesan cheese
1 bottle red/wine vinegrette dressing
1 bottle berensteins cheese fantastico dressing

My mom makes this one for all summer occasions and it is always a huge hit!

1 lb. spaghetti, cooked
1 block cheddar cheese, cubed
1 stick pepperoni, sliced
1 yellow squash, sliced
1 zuccini, sliced
1/2 to 1 small red onion, sliced (depends on how much onion you like how much you put in)
1 jar olives, drained (black or green, your preferance)
1 pint cherry tomtoes
1 bottle Italian dressing

You can up the pepperoni, cheese or veggies depending on your taste. Also, my DH doesn't like tomatoes so I leave them out when I make it. It is VERY good any way you fix it!

Not to be a huge unhelpful "downer" here, but in my 42 years of eating at pot lucks :teeth: , I have yet to run across a pasta salad that makes anyone go WOW. They all kind of taste the same to me. But I must admit that barkley's recipe looks pretty darn good!
