Leaving for the Fort tomorrow after work for a Sunday check in. Fifth wheels washed, packed and ready to go.

Will be meeting my brother and his family when we head out for a mini caravan down.

My DW and I will be staying week but my brother manager to string a couple weeks vacation and is staying for 2.

Kicking back and having a Dole whip cup from costco to help curb the anticipation.

Have fun, If you could post the disney halloween scedual I would appreciate it! Looking to see when the golf cart parade is.

Next day we headed out about 8AM and made good time to the top of Mount Eagle and took the required pictures.20241004_142514.jpg20241004_142326.jpg
You can almost make out my brother's Fort tire cover.

We made it almost to the Tennessee River and hit a traffic jam. 20241004_155455.jpg
It stretched for niles and niles and niles.

Took almost 2 1/2 hours to get to Chattanooga and about another 45 minutes to get to Interstate 75. Made to Buc-ee's about 8.00.
Had some Brisket, bought a hat and back on the road buy 9.00. Stopped for the night about an hour south of Atlanta. We were talking before we turned in and my brother said that it looked like my trailer was leaning to one side.

So this morning up early and after a couple phone calls a visit to a trailer dealer Stopped at the Buc-ee's just down the road and had some fun.20241005_113308.jpg
All that was left of the spring, could have been way worse. 20241005_105848.jpgFB_IMG_1728180677642.jpg20241005_114413.jpg

Should have been a dolphin statue but guessing it was damaged by the hurricane. The buildings and surrounding area had a lot of wind damage.20241005_152933.jpgalmost lifted the roof off.20241005_153004.jpg
Saw a lot of downed trees driving through Valdosta.

Made it to our usual rest stop before the Turnpike for the night

Watching the weather. Don't need another hurricane like our trip 2 years ago.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I would prepare for the possibility that the Fort evacuates campers out to the parking lots and moves people to hotels. I saw they are no longer accepting hotel reservations but I have to assume they left rooms open for this possibility. So far the track looks like an I-4 rider. I'm off I-4 east of Tampa, so watching closely.

We are on hurricane watch. No messages from the park yet.

We came in with a little rain but lots of excitement driving in under the entry way.

We were able to get our requested 400 loop. Few empty sites. Guessing some may have canceled. Because of the weather.
We did go ahead and put out some of our decorations.20241006_175337.jpg20241006_193945.jpg
My brother and sister in-laws site.20241006_194416.jpg20241006_194426.jpg

Lucille, my DW read that people have to be out of FT W. by 11 am Wed. Oct 9th. Hope you guys stay safe. This one looks bad. I spoke with a local bussiness over in Lakeland and they are planning to suspend their operations at noon tomorrow.

Hectic last couple of days.made it to the magic kingdom Monday. Was raining off and on. Park was fairly empty in morning. We didn't get to the park until a little before 9.00. Did pirates, big thunder, haunted and small world by 10 am. Did a little souvenir hunting and rode Arial people mover and carousel of progress and headed to the camper for lunch. On the way back we saw Disney had put up sign boards say the Fort would close Wednesday at 11. 20241007_083936.jpg

Started working on ********** again. Boat captain said it received the green light. I know it wasn't a bus driver but a lot of people and equipment moving around.

Looks like they have started prep for the crane. I think the permit start dates were this week.

In the evening did the Tike Room and saw the new County Bear Jamboree. Was good but would have loved to hear blood in the saddle once more lol. Was able to try the Tron ride. Was definitely a do again ride for me. For DW it was a hard pass20241007_195223.jpghad time for a Dole whip earlier in the day but took the picture a little to late.20241007_175102.jpg 20241007_214018.jpg20241007_214532.jpg20241007_213849.jpgTook a couple castle pics and headed back to the camper to start getting ready to move the camper.

This is the only schedule that I received or saw. They did not have anything posted that I could see. No Halloween decorations were up in the Fort. Wondering if they were waiting for the storm to go through. 20241006_132014.jpg

We made the the decision to head out for home Tuesday. We were only staying until Friday and didn't think the parks would have a high probability of opening back up in time. We spent the morning packing up, parked in the overflow and went to Disney Springs for a couple hours and we're on the road by 4.00. Had a moving parking lot from wildwood to Gainesville then started thinning out.

The stop for gas was interesting. They had people directing traffic to the pumps and parking. The person I talked to said they had been at it since 11 in the morning and we're there about 9.

Spent the night just south of Macon. Made it to Nashville and staying with the Dw brother for a few days. Atlanta before and after and Chattanooga were their usual traffic backups.20241008_153126.jpg
