So i live in Florida and had gone to the Mardi Gras 2 park annual pass ( with blockout dates yuck ) for the grand price of $99.99 + tax and when we got there all i had to do was swipe the credit card i used to buy online and my tickets popped out...

Um how do they know i'm a Florida resident if i ddnt have to show ID?

I wonder if it would work for people from out of state say if they knew a family member who lived in Florida?

hhhmmmm was just an observation that got me thinking

just a lil tid bit of information i captured the last time i was there.

so in a sense out of state people could potentially pay florida resident prices?

uh like i have a mother/father/uncle/brother etc who lives in florida, if i was to do it this way i could potentially give them the cash and they could swipe their cc and out comes the florida resident passes?

jus sayin

I think that only works for the Mardi Gras passes though because for all other annual passes you need to go to Guest Services.

I think someone else discovered this a while time ago and that was what was determined.

The Mardi Gras annual pass has always been sold to anyone with the coke code, regardless of what is stated on the webiste. You can even purchase it at Guest Services as long as you have the coke can or the Wendy's cup even if you aren't a resident. The coke with the Mardi Gras special are only sold in FL and Georgia so if you go to the trouble of purchasing one while in FL and want to purchase the Mardi Gras Season Pass, they will let you even if you aren't a resident. just be aware that the expirtion on the AP will be Dec. 19 so you will not get an entire year. Do the math and see if it would still be a good deal for you before purchasing.

The other FL resident specials do require FL ID or FL address if you order online though. If you order a one day ticket as a FL resident, you can be asked to show proof of residence at the turnstiles. But the Season Passes are fine for non-residents.

you do not show proof of FL ID at the gate for single day tickets. I'm a FL resident and buy tickets online for friends/family usually a few times a year and they give me cash. I do not go with them to the park and even if I did, it wouldnt make sense to check that everyone that has a FL resident ticket, is a FL resident when 1 person can buy multiple tickets.

There are "FL resident tickets" and there are also tickets that FL residents can purchase. One example of the FL resident single day ticket was the one that gave you 2 days for the price of one day (they had this one 2 summers ago). On the specific FL resident tickets, you may be asked to show proof of residency. On the tickets that say FL residents may purchase up to 6 tickets for friends and family, then on those you would not have to show residency.

the tickets I buy for others is the $64.99 1 day/ 2 park tickets. I put them in others names and my name will not be on the ticket.

And that is perfectly OK as the fine print says:
* Limit four (4) tickets per valid Florida ID. Valid Florida ID's are as follows:
1. Florida driver’s license
2. Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address)
3. Florida voter’s registration card with corresponding picture ID
4. College ID from a Florida college or university

But there are some ticket offers that are available from time to time that can only be used for Florida residents. Those are the ones in which you may have to show FL ID (not the ones you are purchasing).
