We hope to be there, but are waiting to see if airfare gets more reasonable. Will definitely be there but no firm plans beyond being at DS at midnight. I think this will be our fourth holiday visit and only one was spent in the parks. We found the Springs met our needs.
Have fun and enjoy the birthday celebration!
Our first WDW visit that included NYE was spent at EPCOT. We went with 2 kiddos who were between 8 and 12 years old at the time. They enjoyed being up that late (of course) and had fun dancing, watching fireworks and seeing interactive buskers. Itās crowded but we found it manageable for the most part. Didnāt reach (lowish) Time Sq. levels until close to midnight. How family friendly is the New Year's eve crowd at EPCOT?

Airfare prices are definitely higher than normal for the timeframe. Taking Amtrak down and Delta back home this time.We hope to be there, but are waiting to see if airfare gets more reasonable.
Youāll have more space to move around in at Epcot rather than MKYes but our departure day is also on the 31st so we won't actually be in the parks to ring in the new year!
Sort of unfortunately MK was long fully booked for park reservations (as early as end of September!) so we could only do Epcot. Hopefully we don't regret it with how packed the park is going to be that day
Iām worried that EP would be a lot of standing around. What is there to do with kids on NYE (vs MK) and how bad are the lines for food? Pretty bad?I've seen worse on a typical F&W festival Saturday, in my humble opinion. You'll always find people doing their Epcot thing on some level, but I don't think it's necessarily something to avoid for most ages. It's a super fun night, entertainment and good energy abound, and Disney does an incredible job with traffic flow and people management. If anything the sheer volume of people drowns out most bad behavior. I won't say it's all squeaky clean, but it's manageable.
Both parks will be very busy. There will be lines for everything in both parks.Iām worried that EP would be a lot of standing around. What is there to do with kids on NYE (vs MK) and how bad are the lines for food? Pretty bad?
Itās a vibe just being there.
