New webkinz - used code? Did I just waste $15??

Hi! Just bought my daughter a new webkinz - groundhog. She tried to adopt it this morning and it says the code has been used already. I can't seem to submit a support question b/c I don't remember our account info (we signed up like 2 years ago and under a different email address). I got it at a Hallmark store and I'm going to try to call customer service if I can find a phone number. This is really disappointing. And of course, she doesn't want to return it b/c she already fell in love with it. But $15 for a webkinz that doesn't work???? Has anyone dealt with their customer service? By the way, she already has like 20 webkinz and we've never had a problem before. And, the Hallmark store had a sign that they won't take returns with the code tag opened.
 
The only thing you can do is return it to the store. The same thing happened to me once. Stinks:scared1:
 
I would go back to the store & tell them what happened. This is what their return policy is supposed to prevent so they need to know you had a problem. They may still not replace it, but I would have to at least try.

I bought a webkin once & the seam started ripping after we had it for a couple of days. Of course we had already activated the code and the Hallmark store also had a no return policy. I told them I didn't want a new code, I just wanted the stuffed animal replaced because it was only a couple days old & my son loved it. They weren't very happy but they did give me a new one. They kept the code though, so I would think they would send it back to the company for credit.
 
My son had a friend that "got" an animal online by just entering random codes. He was all happy with himself. I thought it was unfortunate for the person that would by the stuffed animal and then not have a code that works.

My DD 7 has maybe 5 or 6 webkinz. She hasn't even put the last 3 of them online-she just wanted the stuffed animals. :confused3
 
I googled a phone number for Ganz and found one for customer service. So, there is a phone number for Webkinz support if anybody ever needs it. They just make it impossible for you to ever find it. After a couple of tries, I finally got a live person and explained the situation. She told me the code would be reset over night and we could adopt anew today. Lo and behold, my dd adopted this morning w/o any problems. Problem solved. Did not have to deal with Hallmark. However, still no replies from Webkinz online customer support so I would definitely just call if you ever have any problems with Webkinz in the future.
