Starting today, July 25, there is a new streaming bundle of Disney+/Hulu/Max available for new and existing "eligible" customers in the U.S. only. There is a version with ads and a version with no ads. The three-way bundle with ads is $16.99/month, and the bundle without ads is $29.99/month. Apparently the only sign-up option is via one of the websites for these services. If you already subscribe to any of them, you can switch over to the new bundle.

If you are interested in this, remember to check any credit card offers you may have for streaming services. Sometimes these offers kick back a few dollars per month, or give you a discount on an annual streaming subscription fee. I have been doing this with Amex for the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle for a while now and it has been a good deal.

It seems to me Disney+ is desperate to add new customers to their streaming service and with this deal I think if you're a newbie to Disney+ I can see this deal working out. But why they have Max with Hulu is beyond me because when you look at it Max simply has retro movies like HBO does and it shocks me that Max offers the new movies such as Barbie first before any other movie streaming service does and why I think Disney bought Max is so they can add Disney movies to them. Now I found out why Disney+ has Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Jimmy Kimmel and Press Your Luck is because I think the ABC App will be gone and all the ABC shows will be added to Disney+. But watch during November and December for Disney+ to promote free trials of Hulu and Max for Thanksgiving and Christmas

This makes sense to me. Im in the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa region. We have STAR with Disney+ and the pricing models are basically the same as whats outlined for this new bundle for American customers. STAR is really HULU, its almost the same content.

So with this new bundle for American customers, they are really making Disney+ a more streamlined product across all regions and territories. When I travel to UK I can log in and get the same content as in my home country, Ireland. When I travel to America I can still log in to Disney+ but I cant access the STAR content.

Disney didn’t buy Max, that’s part of WBD. This is a partnership to take market share away from Netflix.

They did not buy it, but they are partnering with WBD on offering the bundle.

EDIT: And, I'm sorry @fatmanatee - for some reason I red your post as a question, so I'm just reaffirming what you already said.

There are people who like retro/old movies. I was one of the last people who still had a DVD Netflix subscription because it gave me the ability to legally watch older movies that were not on streaming. The fact that HBO had older/classic movies was part of the reason I subscribed to Max. Also Max has just about every Discovery Channel show on it as well, so it is more than just older movies.

People associate Disney and Disney+ with kids and there is a vast majority of content on Disney+ that is child/family friendly. However, households with children also have adults. Bundling Max and Hulu makes it more attractive to adults. There's something for everyone. When the kids go off to bed or are out of the house for another reason (sleepover, sleep away camp, school trip, or something else) there is more grown-up fare for the adults to watch.

it shocks me that Max offers the new movies such as Barbie first before any other movie streaming service does

Barbie was a Warner Brothers film. When films are released on streaming, they usually go the streaming service connected to the studio. Warner Brothers is part of the larger company Warner Brothers Discovery and the streaming service connected with them is Max. At this point, most major movie studios are connected to a streaming service. A Universal film will go to Peacock first before other streaming services have it.

I think Disney bought Max is so they can add Disney movies to them. Now I found out why Disney+ has Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Jimmy Kimmel and Press Your Luck is because I think the ABC App will be gone and all the ABC shows will be added to Disney+.

As others have said, Disney did not buy Max. Disney and Warner Brothers Discovery entered into a partnership that they hope will benefit everyone involved. Disney+ has ABC shows because Disney owns ABC. ABC shows are on Hulu, because Hulu started out as joint venture of multiple networks. It was originally a way for people to legally watch broadcast shows online after they aired on TV. When Disney bought Fox, they ended up with Fox's share of Hulu, in addition to the ABC share Disney already owned.

Disney ended up buying out the other co-owners of Hulu, so now Disney owns Hulu outright. Hulu no longer has co-owners the way it once did. As Disney starts to put more Hulu programming on Disney+, that means more ABC programming will be available on Disney+.

You probably right about the end of the ABC app being near. Disney would want to drive traffic to Hulu and/or Disney+.

I was surprised when I was looking through Disney+ to see Press Your Luck listed and I found some episodes that I had never even seen before and that made me happy. But I do agree that ABC will get rid of the ABC App because it was confusing to use and if you wanted to see more episodes of a show you had to pay to upgrade. But I think this new streaming bundle deal will take some of Netflix's subscribers away and give Amazon Prime Video and Peacock and Paramount+ more competition and the prices for Amazon Prime Video Peacock and Paramount+ will skyrocket during the start of the holidays and once New Year's Eve hits Disney+ will lower it's prices but Hulu will raise it's prices as well. But I do wish Disney+ could add reruns of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Regis Philbin and the syndicated version with Meredith Veira and Chris Harrison. Now that's a show I would watch on Disney+

That new bundle sounds like a good deal for people who watch a lot of those services, but I’ve personally stopped paying for streaming subscriptions. I found that even with bundles, the costs added up quickly, and I wasn’t watching enough to justify them. Instead, I’ve started using 123 movies, where I can watch all kinds of movies and shows for free.

It’s been great because I get access to both new and old content without needing to manage multiple subscriptions or worry about monthly fees. Plus, the variety and quality are more than enough to keep me entertained.
