I'm mentioning this since there's work walls that have gone up today for this in Islands of Adventure.

Here are some photos from various places:

It's going where the old triceratops encounter was and extending over the water of the lagoon around the front of the Discovery Center and back. It'll likely be more of a thrill coaster than the new potter one nearly finished. They lost two roller coasters when they got rid of Dragons, which were both thrill (And together at one ride location). The Harry potter one will be more family friendly, and this one will be likely more thrill.

Oh finally!!!!

I just mentioned last week to someone on my trip report they should make more use of the lagoon.......

Cannot wait for this one too!!!

Very excited for this coaster. I think it's good that Universal is doubling down on the "thrill" aspects of rides, since we know Disney doesn't like to push the envelope there. This will likely be the best coaster in Orlando.

I'm guessing (hoping) the new coaster would look something like The Flying Dinosaur in Universal Studios Osaka.
I tried it last summer. Thrill level was 9.5/10 (Hulk was around 7/10 for me).
I'm a coaster buff but this ride almost made me lose my breakfast lol.
However, it was a terrifyingly awesome ride!!!!

Any ideas out there about the track layout or timeframe? I caught Midways vlog from the other day talking a little about it but haven't seen anything else.

Insider reports I've been reading on another board suggest it will be a dual launch Intamin coaster potentially reaching launch speeds of 75mph or more so it can be billed as the fastest coaster in Orlando.

This is a nondescript Jurassic logo that showed up today, that could be for either Jurassic World or Jurassic Park. Has me wondering if they will convert the area to Jurassic World when this new coaster opens up. Details on what the coaster will be are sketchy, but since the Potter coaster is more family friendly, I'd expect this one to be a bit more thrill.

The bypass bridge around Hogsmeade (wooded boardwalk between Jurassic and Lost Continent) is shutting down next week also, and reopening in the summer. (I believe they may be tearing it down and rebuilding/ rerouting it to allow room for the coaster construction)

Wait, does this mean there will be no way to get to JP from Hogsmeade without walking all the way around the park?

If anyone hears if they will be temporarily closing the Raptor encounter, can you let me know? Big factor in my vacation planning. :o

Might be a small downtime though while they transition it from one spot to the next but should be pretty minimal. Can get the new area prepped with the current one running then just shut it down and move the raptors over. Could see a potential closure of a few days between though to get everything set in place and make sure it's all working right.

I think most folks have known about it for a while by now....::yes::
