Our employee party is this weekend, and everyone does a funny gift for the White Elephant exchange. I could really use some ideas - one woman brought in a prosthetic arm with a hook one year, and that was apparently the best gift ever. :scared:

One year at my office one of the guys gave the children's book called, "Everybody Poops" and a roll of toilet paper. Everyone got a huge kick out of it, could have been the alcohol, but everyone thought it was hugely funny.

Head to a thrift store. There are loads of ugly things there on the shelves being protected like they are valuable. Of course, sometimes, they are. I'm taking 3 bottles of hot sauce with highly inappropriate labels and a crazy madonna and child snow globe that I got at Target. Normally, I would not think a religious snow globe was a good gag gift. You just HAVE to see this one to appreciate it. The Jesus is outside the snoglobe and looks about 3years old and the Madonna just has her head in the snow. It's pretty humorous. This group passes around a pint of 4 Roses whiskey-it's been 20+ years that the bottle has returned year after year. We also passed a life size ceramic german shepherd around for a while, year after year. Two years ago, the theme became Chuck Norris-there was no memo, just several Chuck Norris gifts made it there, lol

How about a canned ham or some spam? Or if you can possibly find one..a Chia Pet Obama or Romney. I saw those two things at Kmart before the election.

A shake weight, it was a big hit at out gift grab last year because it is so ridiculous.

2 years ago I brought a shake weight.

Generally as seen on tv ones can ge funny with the right crowd. Ours usually ends up. Going the private joke route. Last year someone brought a pair of "hot pants" from a show we had mistakenly seen in Atlantic city.:rotfl2:

We do a White Elephant exchange every year. We have a broken watch that's been going around since the first year.

Best (funniest) gift ever though was the padded underwear my mom received. Nobody ever would fess up to buying them (it wasn't me!). :teeth:

I once ended up with one of those geese cookie jars. After I got home my gift broke...

One person had a an old ( I think it was skippy ) peanut butter jar shaped as the bear and it was filled with peanuts.

The big hit at my family Christmas exchange was a pink Miami Vice jacket.

I just saw something called Booty Pop at 5 Below.

I guess it makes you look like you have a big butt. :confused3

One year we gave an inflatable shark (for use in the pool). So random yet so funny :goodvibes

I have a commemorative 2003 Wrigley Field framed picture stashed away for just such an event. For those who don't remember, 2003 they were within a handful of outs of going to the World Series. Its a particularly bad reminder if you're a Cubs Fan.

I think I'm going to buy a big can/jar of SOMETHING no one wants at Costco for our annual attic treasure gift exchange.

I grabbed ours for DH's Christmas party from Target. They had a cell phone accessory that is an old-school telephone handset. Just struck me as funny.

The best one I ever did was to print out an 8x10 photo of the boss and stick it in a dollar store frame. I hid a $20 giftcard inside though, because the way we did it, it wasn't really straight white elephant.

The person that got it was sooooo mad (until she found out about the giftcard)...it was very funny.

Well the one I remember form our family party was a package of Maxi Pads. The funny thing was a 10 year old boy ended up with them (Family party)

I love White Elephant. I have seen some doozies--a toilet seat, a hula skirt, an old John Denver 33-1/2 LP, a Fleets enema (!), a 10-lb can of dried golden raisins. I second going to Walgreens--Oh, my! I can think of a lot of stuff there that would be great! Cotton balls, vaseline, Spiderman bandaids, Metamucil, dandruff shampoo, pregnancy test...the sky's the limit!
