My dad keeps bringing this up We've done Medieval Times (once...20 years ago), and now we can't decide if we should do that again or do the Pirate one that's nextdoor. Any opinions from those who've done both?

If you choose Medieval Times, don't sit in a front row.
We went a few years back and I thought front row would be the best.....

As the horses rode/charged by, their hoofs pitched up chunks of the arena on to our dinner trays.

Some of the sections for the pirates dinner can make it hard to see the entire show.

When we went to both I would say the food wasn't average. If there is a next time for us, I will eat before we go....

Both are what they are.....

I enjoy Medival Times more than the Pirates. We've been a couple of times to MT and I can't say I would need to see the Pirate one again.

It's been q few years for me. I liked both but I remember liking the aerialists in the Pirates show. There was a pre-show before the actual scheduled time and appetizers were served and a prelude to the show was presented. The food was good but ice cream was part of the dessert and that upset my stomach.

Medieval times...you eat with your hands. Most people in my group loved the chicken and potatoes that were served for dinner. Afterwards, there was a meet and greet with some of the knights.

Either way, be sure to check out Porto's Bakery, which is between Medieval Times and the Pirate show, closer to MT. An amazing array of goodies.

I haven't been to Pirates yet, I'm going on my next trip. But my sister has taken her family to MT several times and on their last trip took them to Pirates to change things up. She said the food was better at MT but the entertainment was better at Pirates. It's all subjective, really. I enjoyed the food at MT. But again, I can't really weigh in since I haven't been to Pirates. Either of them will be like a new show for you since it's been so long since you've gone to MT. Draw a name out of a hat? And once that decides for you, assess how you feel. Are you disappointed now that a decision has been made? If so, then change to the other because it's what you want.

Also, if price is a factor, sometimes Costco carries tickets for one or the other. Work associations and clubs might also have them. $36 - $45 tends to be the discounted rate.

I have seen both. The Pirate Show was worse than any middle school production.
As a former middle school Theatre teacher, I can't decide if I should laugh, cry or be offended 😂

@ShadowCross when are you going? I'd love to hear your thoughts afterward. Also, the drawing a name (or flipping a coin) and then assessing how you feel about it is something I learned from my mom ❤ love that method of deciding!

Go on their websites and sign up for their mailing lists. I get Medieval Times emails often and they have pretty good deals.

And the comparison to a school production cracked me up. My husband was a little put off with the Pirate show because it was like a musical so it was kinda weird but that was a long time ago so they may have changed it.

Medieval times is better than the pirates show. If you want pirates ride Pirates of the Caribbean.

Hopping on this bandwagon if that’s okay!

Is there a variety of non-meat items at Medieval Times? Enough for a vegetarian to get by? I studied Medieval Lit era in grad school and I feel like it’s my duty to go there at least once. 😂
