I've tried the stroopwaffel McFlurry. Not sure if they just made up cheesy bacon fries or the Tomato and Mozzarella Crispy Chicken sandwich.

I don't have firsthand knowledge of these items. I have been to a McDonald's in Canada and don't remember that tomato in a chicken sandwich. The one thing I remember was the Kiwi Burger in New Zealand with red beets and a fried egg, but somehow that didn't make it to this promotion.

They have the cheesy bacon fries in Italy. We didn't see them on the menu until after we ordered. 🤣 After we ordered 2 big mac meals, we starting noticing the different things on the menu and said we should've ordered the different stuff.

Yes, we know how crazy it is to eat at McDonald's when in Italy....:laughing::laughing: We had been there for a very long time for my husband's job and were really craving something from home when we were in a town that had it. We actually wanted Burger King after we saw a sign but we couldn't find it and came across McD's. :rotfl:

This one?

I actually had to try one when I was NZ back in 1992. Nobody even looked at me funny because of my accent. I did meet some American who said he had been bike touring North Island and wanted to know who won the NCAA men's basketball championship.

We had what was supposed to be a quarter pounder with cheese equivalent in Russia. Had cabbage, plus cucumber slices instead of pickles. But the fries really got my attention. HUGE. So loooooooong. Many of them were 9-10 inches long, easy. I think they grew those potatoes at Chernobyl.

At the McD’s outside Versailles, they served wine. I think they cooked everything in butter. Best McD’s ever. When I ordered two royales with cheese, I grinned a little and the manager asked why Americans always laugh or smile when they order that item. This was years ago, and I guess Pulp Fiction wasn’t as big in France as it was in the US. So I explained it to him. He said he would have to watch the movie.

I've seen some interesting things at McDonald's around the world. The Kiwibuger definitely, but I was kind of disappointed that it didn't have any kiwi per se. In China they had mango soft serve. Also - once I was just at one in China with my kid and nobody else who could help me order in Chinese. The manager picked up on that (and he spoke a little English that he seemed eager to try out) and handed me a picture menu. Strangely enough a McChicken, fries, and drink aren't much different than one might find in the United States.

Outside the US, I think I've been to McDonald's in Canada, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. Not Hong Kong though, even though I really wanted to go to one after 3 weeks in China back in the mid-80s before McDonald's made it to China. For the most part McD's around the world seem to emulate the menus in the US because that's really what the locals want, with maybe a few local touches.

But I'm starting to love the new stuff they have. This morning I ordered something I saw on the menu board a few days ago - a McChicken Biscuit. Maybe this is something that other parts of the US got, but it seems to be new here.

Chick-fil-A has a breakfast chicken biscuit that’s fabulous! I’ll have to try the McDonald’s version on Sunday when Chick 🐥 is dark.

I live in Illinois, we used to have the chicken biscuit at breakfast time but that was years ago. I just checked the menu for here and we still do not have it. I wish we did. It was good. I like Chick fil A's too but there is no Chick fil A near where I work or on my way to work so I either grab something at home or occassionally stop off at McD's. I would love to be able to get a chicken biscuit there.

After 8 days in China eating Chinese food for 3 meals a day, DD and I were thrilled to find a McDonald's in Shanghai! I didn't notice much difference in the menu but they did have different flavors of ice cream and they had bubble tea which my DD LOVED.

I went to Mcdonalds in Hong Kong several years ago, but don't remember if there was anything too unique on the menu.

They probably have rice as a side option as that's popular. In the Philippines they have McSpaghetti which tastes like Chef Boyardee. Get it with chicken nuggets and you have your own cheap Chicken Parmesan :p
