Mark Lester (Oliver) might be the father of MJs daughter Paris!

Ok im really sorry for another Michael Jackson Story, but this was was really shocking to me! Just read the Mark Lester, the child star who was "Oliver" in one of my favorite movies ever, claims that he could be the father of Paris Michaels daughter and wants to take a test to prove it! Just when i didnt think this story could get any stranger!

Just an fyi, he happens to be the kids God Father, and was a good friend of Michael's. He did also say that he was coming forward because he still wants to keep in contact with the kids. But he has a better chance being the God Father then being the sperm donor.

I agree with you. He still wants to have contact with the kids. After all they have known him all of their lives. He is Godfather to all three of Michaels kids, and Michael was Godfather to all of Marks kids too. I really never knew they had a close friendship, i knew about Brooke shields but didnt realize that Mark Lester was so close to Michael. You have to be really close to someone to make them Godparent to your children.

Sorry, but if Debbie Rowe is the mother, then Lester can't be the father. You cannot get a child with an olive complexion out of two pale white, blonde parents. It is not genetically possible. Paris is almost the same complexion as the Jackson women in the pictures from the memorial.

If you ask me, it looked like MJ's kids spent time on a tanning bed before the memorial service. In all the photos I've seen of them--except from the memorial--they were very fair. Yes, they looked olive-skinned at the service, but did you see the videos of Paris singing "You are my sunshine" to her dad? She was pale as can be.

Anyhoo--this is driving me crazy, so I came here to ask this. Before this news item came out, I would have sworn that Mark Lester died of a drug overdose at a young age. Obviously, I'm wrong about that, so I must have him confused with another English child actor famous in the 60s or 70s. Whoever I'm thinking of was an adorable-looking boy. It always made me feel sad to think he grew up to get hooked on drugs.

Is it Matthew Garber, thelittle boy who was in Mary Poppins and The Gnome-Mobile? He died at age 21 from hepatitis. His family said it was caused by tainted meat, but there was speculation that he was a drug addict.

Biracial kids get darker as they get older. My son's father is darker than MJ ever was and here are his kids(older one is mine and younger one is his second wife's)

And here is my son when he was younger. You can see he has darkened up quite a bit WITHOUT the tanning bed, LOL

Noone could get a tan as even as those kids have. Here's a pic of Paris several years ago with her dad. Notice the olive skin tone on her back.

ITA with you that most people get darker as they age.

That said, it's hard to tell with MJ's kids how much darker they've gotten through the years because he didn't allow them to be photographed much.

Maybe their complexions darkened gradually. There are gaps in years of when you can find photographs of them so it's hard to say that's the case. Maybe--as I suggested upthread--they simply got tans before the service.

The Jackson family as a whole seems fine with artifically altering their appearance for the sake of public opinion. I certainly wouldn't put it past them to make sure MJ's kids were well-tanned before the service where they'd be photographed for all the world to see.

Matthew was certainly adorable-looking, Aishling, but no, I don't think it was him. Maybe I heard a rumor years ago that Mr. Lester had passed away? Death rumors about famous people were a common thing back in the day before the internet, i.e., back when kids were dying from spider eggs in Bubble Yum.

No, he and his mom and 2 brothers and one sister are all the same complexion. His bio father was lighter skinned than them, but not biracial. There is some white and Native American on that side of the family(ex's paternal side) I believe my son's great grandfather on that side had blue eyes, and it has just skipped down without showing up until now. Two of my ex's siblings have biracial kids and they look like many biracial kids, medium complexion, dark eyes and more coarse hair than my son. The other baby in the picture is my son's half sister from the same dad, so people who say a dark man cannot have more than one child who turns out very light and even with blue eyes are definitely wrong.

OTOH, I have never seen a bio kid of two blond type whites that looked biracial.

Not always. My sister and her husband are both blonde with VERY fair skin. Their oldest daughter has olive skin and brown hair. Why? Because her husband's grandfather had Cherokee Indian blood.

Just because Debbie is blonde and Lester is blonde, doesn't really mean too much. They could have backgrounds that we're unaware of.

Jack Wild, who was also in Oliver (and H.R. Pufnstuf) died a few years ago of oral cancer. Maybe that's who you're thinking of. I loved him.... Poor guy, he had a tough last few years.

My kids...all with the same father...have VERY different complexions. I have one "white" DD and one "Italian" one. One is tall, one short. One shaplier, one skinny. Genetics are a funny thing. You just don't know what's going to pop up from previous generations.

I don't know, the articles I have read would say it was impossible for that child to be theirs. Supposedly, darker skin is dominant, so you show all the dark genes that you inherit. You can't pass on what you don't have. Here is a quote from one article. It is talking about children of white and non-white parents, but seems like it would apply to white-white as well.


"According to the laws of skin inheritance, as long as one parent is white, the child will ALWAYS be lighter in color than the dark parent. This is because the white contributes virtually all light skin color genes which blend with the light and dark genes of the biracial(or black) parent. The same also holds true for darker caucasians, such as Mediterraneans and Arabs. They also carry both light and dark skin color genes, and if they mate with a white person, their child will ALWAYS be lighter than they are. Whites who are of the brunette type can produce a child who is somewhat dark, but ALWAYS lighter than the biracial(or black) parent. The blonde type with light hair, light eyes and light white skin is carrying few if any of these genes and cannot produce such a child".

ITA!! Seems to me like Mark Lester is just looking for his next 15 minutes of fame. Remember all the people claiming to be Anna Nicole Smith's baby daddy? Same thing here. People come out of the woodwork. I was watching the news about this story the other night and the commentators also seemed to think Mark just wanted some attention and laughed at the parallels between the MJ and Anna Nicole cases with the parentage issues.
