Make your own "jibbitz" for your Crocs!

WOW! Thanks for sharing,, I even think I...and my infinite level of un-craftiness..... could accomplish these!!!!!!!!!!

Do all Crocs have the same size holes? I've got some great antique buttons my neices would love as "jibbitzs" if I knew the holes/back buttons were "one size fits all."

Well, if I understand correctly, the back buttons are supposed to be BIGGER than the holes. You squeeze them through so they stay secure. Not sure if all Crocs have the same hole size though. I have Niles and DD has the Mickey head ones. LOL!

Someone needs to post a picture for those of us that have no idea what you are talking about!! Thanks

If you click on the link in the OP, you will see photos of the "make your own jibbitz". If you want to see what the real jibbitz look like, you can see them at www.jibbitz.com. Hope this helps!

awesome! thanks so much. :cool1: I'm going to have to head out to ac moore now... dh will love that. :rotfl2: maggie

i wear crocs but don't have any decorations. your idea is great. they can really be customized to your own special taste. thanks for sharing.

Oh, like I said, it's not my idea, but I wish I woulda thought of it! :)

DD and I have the holiday off, so we'll try this out tomorrow and see if it works out!

Great idea! Anyone know if you can find these buttons in Disney style?

works great! dd and I went out yesterday and bought buttons at michaels. didn't see any disney ones though. :( dd has now made a "shoeful" of these. great idea, thanks for sharing!

DD7 and I are now sporting cute flowers, turtles, smileys, and ladybugs on our shoes. They came out so cute!!! We love them! We got our buttons from the craft department at Walmart.

I put mine on a pair of Ocean State Job Lot generic clogs, and they worked just fine. DD has hers on her Airwalks (with diamond holes!!) and they still worked just fine, for those of you who were wondering. We also found a way to use the really CUTE and detailed rubber buttons from Walmart that didn't come with a shank (and only have the two holes in the middle for thread). We put the regular flat securing button, then two smaller flat buttons, THEN the rubber button. This gave it the needed room to allow it to go into the hole. They also fit on DD's Disney Crocs (I only have the Niles, so no real Crocs holes for me. LOL!), but we had to be extra careful not to damage the tops of Mickey's head with the buttons.

Sooooo.... For the price of $9 (or 3 Jibbitz), we made 20 "shoe jewels" and have enough flat buttons to make several dozen more!

I have got to try this! I've never seen Jibbitz before, so this was new to me.

Argh!!! How does one post a photo on here??? We took one, but the usual c/p method doesn't seem to work!

rofl, I have now been to michael's and joanns... I have a LOT of buttons now. :) joann's had the best selection though. dd is thrilled to have pigs, pandas and clovers... love this idea! thanks again. maggie

Lookie lookie!! http://www.joannfabrics.com/search/search_results.jhtml;$sessionid$GZ113SIAAFWY0P4SY5KRIHR50LD3UEPO?reqData=CA_AttributeSelected&CATID=3&keywords=buttons&attributeName=Style&attributeValue=Disney&catPath=All%2BProducts%252F%252F%252F%252FUserSearch%253Dbuttons&eid=1169002626555_525426_21140254

They're made for scrapbooking, but I would assume you could get the sticky stuff off the back and then use the three buttons behind them...

FWIW, I've seen faux jibbitz at OSJL.

Really? I'll have to check that out. I haven't been there since the summer as it's a bit away from here. :)
