Now let's see some itineraries .

The Disney Destiny will sail its maiden voyage from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Nov. 20, 2025. Not only will this special four-night cruise be your first opportunity to experience all this ship has to offer, but it will also include stops at both of Disney Cruise Line’s island destinations in The Bahamas – Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point!
The maiden voyage will be followed by an inaugural season of four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean. Every sailing will include a day of fun in the sun at either Disney Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay — some itineraries will even visit both! — and select cruises will feature more sun-soaked relaxation and warm-weather adventure in Nassau, Bahamas, or Cozumel, Mexico. Stay tuned to disneycruise.com for dates and itinerary details before bookings open to the general public Sep. 12, 2024.

Yeah, I read that. I'm talking dates.

Only 4 nights for the maiden sailing? Does that seem short to anyone else?
It does, I was thinking the inaugural would be a five night. But I guess it’s the third ship in this class and really it’s just painted differently than the other two.

Also fewer nights = lower price = likely selling out faster than the Treasure maiden.

Treasure maiden took awhile not because of longer nights. The fact that the price was too high because it was sailing during Christmas and it being a maiden voyage.

I wished the Wish had a longer sailing since itinerary was 5 nights and thought it was short on MV. I currently have Treasure booked and might change it because I want go back to itinerary specific and not ship focused. Sadly all the good itineraries are on the older ships. My family doesn't care for beaches.

Let me guess. Nassau and CC.
"Today, Disney Cruise Line revealed November 20, 2025 will be the Maiden Voyage for the Disney Destiny which will embark on a 4-Night Bahamian Cruise from Fort Lauderdale with stops at both Lookout Cay and Castaway Cay. The Disney Destiny will be sailing from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale with a selection of 4- and 5-night sailings to the Western Caribbean and Bahamas."

From DCL Blog.

We shall see… What is sad is it is looking to me like it is possible the Wish will be the best of the Triton class - it is disappointing to me that they didn’t reassess some of the problems with the Wish before building the other two…

Will be curious to see if the Japanese Triton Class improves some of the maddening issues with the Wish.

I bet that do one or the other plus Nassau.

Wait so will the Destiny start offering 7 nights after this initial startup period? Or continue with these
short sailings?

My TA asked if I was interested in the Destiny last night and now I suspect she may have had a heads up about the announcement today. I didn’t flat out say no, but now that we know the sailings will be short and to the same places it pretty much is for us. We also aren’t big marvel people, so the only path left for us really is when the ports change or if there is a group sailing we want to be on.

Honestly I’m feeling good about it. We have three sailings booked anyway and while it was fun “catching them all” when the pace was slower trying to do that now would just devote too much vacation time. We aren’t getting any younger… looking forward to just living this one vicariously through big fans like we did with the Galactic Starcruiser. If this was the last new ship for awhile we probably would have, but with yet more ships on the very near horizon, I’m calling uncle.

So they do both sometimes and Nassau and mix in Cozumel. Exact itineraries they always do and are currently doing. I'm not sure what point your trying to prove.

I like this reasoning!!! When I saw the date of this MV I thought here we go again thinking it would sail over a holiday (Thanksgiving). Then I realized it is only 4 nights and turkey day is not until the 27th next year and got excited again. But...air travel will be high since it is Thanksgiving week so increasing the price of travel at that time. Why couldn't it have been a MV on like December 1st in the shoulder season?

Again, all hyped up for the MV but then thought why....I would rather do a 5 night so will wait a bit to sail the Destiny. I can book on the first day of bookings so maybe book something for the summer for the Destiny.

I would strongly prefer to do the sailings that hit both CC and LC (and have no need to visit Nassau or Cozumel again) but the maiden voyage isn’t timed well for our kids’ school schedules (and I don’t need to pay a premium to be the very very first).

We like the Wish with Hyperspace Lounge and Arendelle and only a few of the things we’ve seen for other ships strike us as upgrades (for our tastes) vs. downgrades. I’m happy to try out Destiny since it will be 4-5 nights and hit the private islands. Our kids want to sail on all the ships but so far I haven’t been able to bring myself to commit to the 7 day Treasure sailings— 7 days seems like a long time on those ships…4-5 is about right (3 is a bit short for us in general).
