Lunch after landing at LAX

We (12 of us) land at LAX around noon. We are renting a van and will need to run through and grab lunch on the way to GCH. Any ideas for different (not chain) good ideas for lunch? We will have all of our stuff so will need to be drive through.
I know there are tons of drive through chains we could hit. Just looking for something different. Thanks

I mean, if you don't get out west much, In-N-Out is great. It's a chain and all, but it's a very LA thing.

Now, an LA place that I really like is Ike's Love & Sandwiches. I don't think they have drive throughs, though their locations may vary (I've been to a couple). There is one not too far from LAX on Supelveda (just a little furhter south from the In-N-Out). They have awesome bread! It's a chain, but a local one - they ahve not spread as far as In-N-Out.

The Proud Bird is a historical food hall within the LAX complex (adjacent to the airport’s economy parking lot). Very good reasonably priced food with incredible views of the planes landing, if you’re into that.

I’d probably recommend Habit Burger over In-N-Out. If you want something healthy, California Fish Grill has great seafood options. Both chains have locations near DLR.

There is a place north of the Disneyland area called the Barrio Fiesta. Don’t be fooled by the Mexican sounding name… it is actually a Filipino restaurant. The restaurant is perfect for large groups and they offer special packages with all sorts of Filipino delicacies like pancit (noodles with vegetables) and crispy pata (fried pork) among other things.

With factoring in the time to pick up the rental van, I would probably just make sure everyone has snacks and a bottle of water and book it down to the DLR and get food around Anaheim.

Unless you’re really just bent on some LA fast food? That In-and Out on Sepulveda gets packed and it’s a tiny parking lot. You said drive thru only, right? Maybe more details on what you’re looking for? Something near DLR?

We live in Colorado so have In and out here.
It’s a mixed group-hubby and me, older boys and their spouses and 3 grands. Age ranges 52 to 9 months. Eating at the airport before we get the van might be a really good idea.
I appreciate all the suggestions.

A couple more options without a drive thru (but you could put in your order ahead of time, and then send someone in to pick it up?) are Mendocino Farms (local chain with sandwiches and salads), and Continental Gourmet Market (empanadas.)

Mendocino Farms is a good suggestion. You can order on your phone and just send one person in to pick up the food. There is one off of Rosecrans & Sepulveda in El Segundo - close to the airport and freeways

My suggestion of Proud Bird isn’t in the airport terminals but rather the airport complex (adjacent to the airport owned economy parking lot that just reopened). It’s a food hall and the food is very good + reasonably priced. The owners own several food halls in the area that serve the same food at higher prices.

Like I said, if one likes planes it’s a great place to be - you can eat out the heated deck and watch all the planes land.
