We will be going to Florida for a week. Our daughter is doing to college softball camps and then the following weekend a softball tournament with her team from out of state. Instead of flying home for a few days just to fly back, we are looking to stay in Orlando area for a few days in between.
My daughter is also an alumni for give kids the world so we want the hotel somewhere within half hour of there.
They will be doing school work during the day but want a hotel that has a fun pool, maybe outdoor movie night, kids room, and just an all around nice resort that doesn’t break the bank and stuff to do while out of the room so my hand can work. Preferably free parking.
We were looking at Wyndham bonnet creek and the Berkeley so far. Any other suggestions?
Thank you!

Any of the better timeshares in the area would fit the bill. Of the ones I've personally been to, either Wyndham Bonnet Creek or Marriott Cypress Harbour would good choices.

Ok thank you. With time shares, why are they so much cheaper? Because they are larger? I want to make sure I’m not going to a rundown place. I’ll check out the two you mentioned!

Usually because you are renting directly from an owner and benefiting in part from their lower costs. That carries more risk for you (these are almost always non-refundable).

You can also book a stay at a Marriott resort on their site (Marriott.com). The stays can be canceled and don't require that you attend a timeshare presentation. Harbor Lakes, Cypress Harbour, Grande Vista, Vistana Villages and others can be rented from the site. Any of the Hilton Grande Vacation resorts have nice pools and things kids would enjoy too.

The Marriott site can be downright reasonable, especially for an extended stay of more than a few days. For my week in early March, loyalty members would pay just a hair over $300/night for a 2BR at Cypress Harbour including all taxes and fees on this promotion--and the rate can be cancelled up to three days before check in.

That's less than the cheapest available Disney Moderate under their early-2025 discount for those same dates.

We had a nice stay at the Marriott Lakeshore Reserve, but it was pre-COVID, check the more recent reviews. Nice condos with a lazy river and access to the more luxe hotels on the same property. (JW Marriott and Ritz)

We have loved Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. Many resort activities, but that adds to hotel fee. So look at total cost, not initial room quote. Parking is add on as well.

Wonderful pool….rivals Polynesian & has same feel. Rock wall, paddle board, pedal boats, pickle ball, etc.

The gaylord palms is one of the best resorts in orlando when it comes to stuff to do on a resorts property. Plenty of options to pick from such as dining, spa treatments, on site water park etc. This hotel is one of the big reasons we rarely stay on property at Disney any more. Orlando World Center Marriot is another great pic as they also have a water park on site at their resort.

Will look into that especially since poly is our favorite hotel!

Will look into this because we wanted a lazy river. Thanks

Hoping to get it under $300 but we are Marriott reward members so will look into this resort. Thanks

Thanks. I don’t mind non refundable since she’s definitely going for these camps and tournament. Makes sense with the renting making it lower. Thanks for the help!
