Ive never flown into LGB and I cant decide if we should rent a car or Uber? We get free parking with DVC. Right now the car rental is around $155 keeping it the whole time.

Ive rented at SNA and didn't love how far the car rental pick up was and Uber ride is short so for SNA Id for sure Uber.

In October 2023 we took Uber from VDL to LGB and it was $44 with the tip. Its a short trip and I think it's cheaper to Uber each way. Especially if your not going to use the car during your stay,

LGB is tiny! Unless you plan on venturing way outside of the immediate area, Uber is probably cheaper and way less hassle than dealing with a rental car. $155 is a lot for a few days, especially if you're already getting free parking.

Thanks! I was seeing about $55 each way. It's so hard to guesstimate the Uber prices ahead of time.

Cross check with Lyft. I've found it a few bucks cheaper than Uber. We've done both, rental and Lyft, from Long beach. Rideshare was cheaper for stays more than a couple days. Rental was easy, we used Hertz. The office was about 30 feet further walk past the rideshare pickup.

Awesome thanks! Happy to hear the rental is so close if I decide to go that route.

Rental cars are directly across the street from the terminal at LGB. It was easy to pick up a car with a baby and the car seat in tow. I usually judge if we are going to be using the rental car or not. If not, we'll just use Lyft/Uber to the resort.

Like others have said, the LGB airport is very, very small and you can easily walk to the rental car lot. Personally with that rate, I'd rent the car and take advantage of having wheels in LA to get around to restaurants, grocery store, etc.

Renting at Pixar or even just dropping off there is very expensive unfortunately. I even have status with Enterprise but still so much $$.

I think we decided to just take a Lyft
Thanks for the feedback. It is good to know that it is more expensive for people who are considering it.

I used Enterprise at Pixar last year. Used Lyft from LGB to VDH and back. But rented a car for a non-park day. Made a trip down the coast to San Diego and back. It was about $55.
That’s good to hear. Our main goal was getting from airport. Maybe a one way rental to or from there is what’s the expensive part. Cost more than if I did a one way from another state.
