Good morning all
I am checking on info a friend just gave me on lightning lanes. She had mentioned she heard what used to be 15 minutes grace period on lightning lane is now 2 hours, you have after schedule time expires .(it wont show up on you "plans" but you can still utilize it.)
Not only that even if the window passes if you rode it or not you can get your next choice of pass ...so you could potentially be holding 4 passes.
Please confirm if this is so.
Thank you in advance

My understanding is once it expires it disappears. I can’t recall allowing any of ours to do that or not but I’m sure someone else can give you a more definitive answer.

There have been reports of people getting a green light when tapping into a lightning lane reservation more than 15 minutes past the redemption period, including some over an hour late, but none over two hours late. But there are also reports of people being turned away who were less than an hour late. On an Earscouts video, Rob said he asked a cast member what the grace period was; he was basically told "it depends." I would not base a strategy on being able to get into the lightning lane if more than 15 minutes late. But if you are in a situation where you are more than 15 minutes late, by all means try to tap in. You may get a green light and will get in. If you get a blue light, it is a matter of cast member discretion. Have your excuse ready.

Yes, if one of your lightning lane reservations expires, you can book another. You can have three unexpired reservations at all times. But if you have not yet tapped in to a ride, you are still subject to tier and park restrictions. So, if a MK tier 2 expires, you can only replace it with another MK tier 2. You can't replace it with a tier 1 or a ride in another park.
