Lightning Lane Availability 7 Days Out

Bear with me if this is covered somewhere else, but I have not tried to scroll through hundreds of pages of treads.

Has anyone been posting experiences about what kind of LL availability they are finding when they try to book right at 7 AM Eastern time on their first day of eligibility.

I’m especially interested in availability for the single attractions and the most popular Tier 1 Attractions (Tiana, Slinky, Ratatouille). Also the Safari at DAK where there is no tiering.

For example, if I planned to start a day at DHS, what kind of availability should I expect for Slinky and ROTR. Ideally I would like things before noon because my general plan (if it is feasible) is going to be to book things in the morning and then get things for later in the day at a second park after I use the ones booked in advance.

My 7 days was this past Saturday and my husband and I logged in right at 7:00. We found it was fairly easy to find times for later days in our trip, but the earlier days weren’t great. Our first day is HS and our earliest multipass is swirling saucers at 12:40. Toy Story mania is 4:50ish and Slinky Dog is like 6:30? Similar issues the next day when we couldn’t get figment or Nemo until after lunch. We’ve tried modifying many, many times and nothing is opening up. I guess we are lucky we have lunch reservations at 11:15 the first day and garden grill at 10:45 on Epcot day to fill some of that late morning space without multipass. I really thought we’d have no trouble getting a pass for saucers first thing in the day and then proceed booking the rest of our day but so far that’s a hard no. Hope you have better luck!

I just went Saturday for the day, so I booked 3 days out. My starting park was Animal Kingdom and I was able to easily book the safari, Navi River and Festival of the Lion King 3 days out at 7 a.m. along with Flight of Passage as a LLSP. I got to the park Saturday a little after 8:30 a.m. and Navi River was my first LL from 8:50-9:50. I went right to Everest and rode as a single rider. Then to Dinosaur where I also got right on. Finally headed over to Navi River to ride around 9:30. Once I tapped in there, I was able to book my next LL for Hollywood Studios, where I was headed for the afternoon. I got Rock n Roller Coaster. No availability at that time for Slinky Dog, Toy Story or Tower. I was able to book my next LL after tapping into the safari at 10:50 and was able to book Toy Story Midway Mania. Finally, I was able to book my next LL after tapping in at Lion King at 11:30. I was able to get Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. After RnR Coaster, I was able to book Alien Swirling Saucers.
Slinky Dog and Tower of Terror never opened up with any availability when I was looking. But stuff does pop back up throughout the day. Toy Story wasn't originally available (so I booked RnR Coaster), but I was able to get it later.
Hollywood had availability for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, Muppet Vision, Indy stunt show, Star Tours and Frozen Sing-a-long, but I didn't book them. Star Tours was a walk on and Muppets is always just waiting for the next show to start.

So my day was:
Navi River, Kilimanjaro Safari, Festival of the Lion King, Rock n Roller Coaster, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Midway Mania with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
Flight of Passage - Lightning Lane Single Pass.
Expedition Everest (single rider) Dinosaur, Star Tours, Milennium Falcon (single rider), and Slinky Dog - standby line
I also did the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, met Olaf, and became a Disney historian at Walt Disney: One Man's Dream.
So, I think it was a pretty good day.

This is encouraging because we are planning on DAK as our first day and doing something similar to what you are describing in the morning.

We are going to the MNSSHP at MK that night so as we use our 3 at DAK I will be looking for things at MK to use between about 4 and the official park closing at 6.

Some of the top tier stuff will likely be gone - when I looked during the day, Tiana's was gone pretty early - but there was later availability for stuff like Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain. That timing should work well for the party, and you should still be able to get on a lot during the party.

Parties - towards the end of the night - are literally the only time we ever ride Mine Train. LOL.

Yes and a reminder that you will have 2 that you can modify as well as selecting a replacement for your initial attraction for a total of 3.

Just checking to see if you can book LLMP and LLSP days in non-consecutive order. For example, my trip begins on a Thursday. When my window opens at 7am, can I start by booking LLMP and LLSP for the Saturday of my trip? So book Saturday, Friday, Sunday...not in consecutive order?

Yes since you pick the day that you want to make LLMP / LLSP selections for in the purchase cycle.

I booked our LL this morning at 7 AM for next week (hotel reservation/4-day Magic Pass: 8/14, my birthday!)

Booked MK first, for 8/18:

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Tiana
10:30 AM - 11:30 AM Pirates
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Haunted Mansion

Then booked HS for 8/17:

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM TSM
10:50 AM - 11:50 AM Slinky
12:50 PM - 1:50 PM ToT

Then added RoR SP:
11:55 AM -- 12:55 PM (DS19 wanted this one!)

Then booked GoTC at Epcot for 8/19:
10:05 AM - 11:05 AM (may move to later in the day if we don't use EE for Frozen).

Finally, DS19 requested SP for FoP on our AK day on 8/16 (11:00 AM -- 12:00 PM).

Did not pay for MP at AK or Epcot, as plan to use EE/EEH (and effective touring plans) for those two parks.

Did not pay for SP for 7DMT or Tron -- will ride at end of evening/using VQ.

This is projected to be a slow week for attendance, although I had been tracking thrilldata and Tiana/Slinky seemed to be showing variable times/availability.

I am very pleased and satisfied with the process, and our results!

I had no trouble Wednesday through Monday. I had no trouble with LLSP. You can see on Saturday, I messed up -- I forgot to select my whole group. We realized this about 1/2 hour after we finished. I was able to book for the reset of the group within 5 min. (Recommend you do a careful check after you are done booking) My original plan was for 3 of us to book different days in different accounts. It didn't work because the credit card wouldn't work in all of the accounts. So my order of booking was weird.

I did Tuesday MK, Friday MK, Sunday Epcot, Monday DHS, Wednesday DHS, Saturday DHS, Sunday MK, TRON for Friday and Sunday (separate because only part of our party), Thursday AK, Monday AK. Later I added the missing picks from Saturday and yesterday I modified TRON to the evening.

I'm happy with Wednesday - Monday. I'm hoping I can modify Monday DHS, I have been checking. (FYI Slinky was available on Monday & Wednesday) I'm just annoyed with Sunday at Epcot - -we had what we wanted, but lost it due to the credit card failure. I haven't been able to modify it.


I should note that I canceled all of my ADRs so that they wouldn't interfere. I only had 4, I could see plenty of openings, and I successfully rescheduled them all. I do not think I would have gotten Tiana on Tuesday if I hadn't done this. (MK closes at 6)


To answer your specific question, there was availability at 7am on my 7 day booking day for Slinky on days 2,4,7 of my trip. Remy was available on Day 1. Safari was wide open on days 5 and 9.

I purchased TRON, RISE, FOP, GOG on multiple days, 7DMT 1 day and there was plenty of options. This included day 1 & 2 of my trip.

If you got Slinky for your first day of trip, I think that's actually a pretty good get! And it gives me hope because our DHS day is our 5th day of trip!

From what I’m seeing here and the data on the Thrill Data site, it seems like availability really opens up about 10 days out. So, if you have a longer trip you should have pretty good choices for the later days of the trip.

My next trip is going to be a short one, arriving on a Saturday with park days Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. So, availability for the more popular attractions might be pretty late in the day.

I might have to resort to our old FP+ approach of scheduling things later in the day at our second park to get the most popular attractions and use early entry to do some of our other favorites before things get too busy.

That was my choice. Every time was available. I had it at 9am, but then we decided we'd rope drop the safari and do it again in the afternoon. I'll use the other 2 to secure additional LLMP.

Thrill data has been helpful to me in formulating a plan. I haven’t booked yet so can’t speak to its accuracy but I feel a lot more confident in laying out a plan at least.

According to Rob on Ear Scouts (YouTube channel), some availability does open on the first day of your trip. Worth a try.
