Laundry @ Contemporary / Room requests?

I've been doing some research on doing laundry at the Contemporary resort. I'm still missing a few things in my understanding. I'm hoping that you (all) can help fill in the missing pieces.

...shows where the laundry facilities are located. They are located in Bay Lake Tower and South Garden Wing. Unfortunately, for laundry, we are staying in the Tower.

...it looks like the CR has only one bank of elevators in the middle of the tower. I'm curious because I want to know if any particular room request (e.g. north end, middle, south end) will make it quicker to get to the elevators to eventually get to the laundry?

I spoke with a (somewhat) helpful cast member. She said laundry was $2/wash and $2/dry, but that it included laundry detergent. I'm curious because I want to know if it is quicker/easier just to bring our detergent pellets. She also said that the machines take dollar bills. Is this true?

Can Tower guests use either facility? Is there any advantage to using one over the other? What floor is the laundry facility on in each building? Does one facility have any more machines?

When we went we stayed in the main building and used the facilities in the Garden Wing. It wasn’t much of a trek to be honest. I don’t remember to much about them except there were maybe six washers and dryers each. I know they took credit cards and we brought our own laundry pods. Price wise I’m not much help because I was with my mom and she did all that. Odds are the ones in the Tower are only for the guests there but I don’t know for sure of course. Oh, the laundry room was on the second floor.

The BLT laundry is BLT guests only.

They only take credit/debit cards and detergent is available to purchase but not included.
