I just found a Kohl's bill in a stack of papers. It was due friday. I'm mad DH didn't tell me there was a bill to pay.

Can I bring it to the store tomorrow and pay it or do I have to mail it in. I'd do it online right now but DH has the card (I need the account # to register at the site) and he's on an airplane.

great news - I'll be taking it there right after I drop DS off at school. Hopefully they won't hit us with any late fees.

You can pay on line, over the phone or at the store. I believe you have a five day grace period.

I worked there for 5 years and sorry, there's no grace period. BUT....if you haven't had any late payments, just pay it, then call customer service and be nice and ask if they'd be willing to remove the late fee as a good faith gesture for a customer in good standing. They will.

I have worked there for fourteen years. I do believe you have a five day grace period.

Please know that this is NOT meant to sound nasty (though I'm sure it could be interpreted that way)....but then how do you explain the two times I made my payment 1 day late and was assessed the $25.00 late fee? I called and asked and was told there wasn't a grace period, but that as a show of good faith to a customer in good standing, they would remove the late fee since my payment was already made at that time. It's happened twice in the 9 years I've had the account.

Well I'll be there payment in hand tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will be 5 days and that is only if they count Sat and Sun so we'll see.

I will also call customer service in the am and tell them what is happening. I actually tried tonight before I posted but the actual people were already done for the day.

We don't have an online account or I would have done that. I tried to set on up but I needed the actual card which is currently flying from NYC to SA.

I'll post back if I find out anything definate about a grace period. If not I'll just take the $25 out of DH's allowance, lol.

I was wondering if you could stil pay in the store now that they have changed over to being a chase card?

My concern about Chase taking over the credit card function is - they most likely won't really care about your payment history, as far as waiving any fees. So, all bets are off for how long it will take to process a payment dropped off at the store, or how long it will take them to process something on-line.

We will be allowing a couple of extra days - until we figure out if it takes longer for them to post payments.

Personally, I wasn't thrilled to hear about Chase deal. If anything "funny" happens, we'll cut up our card, and give them notice.

The Chase takeover happens anywhere from mid-April to end of July, depending on what state you are in. I saw the list of dates on the notice I received in the mail.

Just as an FYI...I have a Chase Bank account already and I can make an online payment and it is posted to my account same day. I think I will actually like that better because currently, it takes 1-2 days for Kohl's to post the payment to the account.

Just an update - I paid in store and it was posted right away (or at least by the time I called to get the fees wavied). I was on hold with the credit card people forever so I had to hang up. I'm making DH do it where he can just sit on speaker phone. He has much better luck getting that stuff removed anyway.

Just to clarify - when you make the payment in person, it's posted right away.

I meant that when you pay your Kohl's bill online, it takes 1-2 days to post to your account.
