Hi
so cruise is now officially booked for May yeah
we will travel with my daughter and her family ( age 10 and 12
i would guess her kids will want to go to kids club
her dauggter and son can they be in the same kid club as neither speaks English might help them enjoy and reassure them ?
should we not send them and risk them catching covid ? Are there big chances of them getting it ?
tgey are both double vaccinated and did have covid during Xmas but what might be the chance of maybe re catching it ?

from your experiences did you see a lot of kids catching it while they were at the kids club

we are trying to wrap our heads around do we send them or not ?
thanks

At 10 and 12 both can attend the Oceaneers Club and Lab. Pre-COVID, you could check once onboard and the 10 year old might be able to go to the Edge if space was available and you signed a waiver. I don't know if they are allowing that right now, but maybe someone with recent experience can chime in.

As for the risk of catching COVID in the clubs, I wouldn't keep my kid out of the clubs because of that. My daughter loved the clubs, and I wouldn't deny her that experience just because she might be exposed to COVID in the clubs.

They had reduced capacity in the clubs and the kids all wore masks. Also they're all vaccinated unless they are aged 4. I wouldn't keep the kids out because of fear of catching covid. That being said, we were only on a 4-night and my son only went 3 times (about an hour each day).

There is also a club for kids age 11-14 called Edge. They will usually allow a 10 year old sibling to go there too, you just need to fill out a form the first time. My 10 and 12 year old preferred Edge on our last cruise. Edge does not require reservations right now. The Oceaneer Club and Lab require reservations, you can make those starting 30 days before you sail. I would make them reservations and then you can always cancel them later if they don't want to go to the kids clubs.

We were hesitant to send my son to the club for fear of testing positive or exposure but ended up caving about halfway through the cruise and he had so much fun, I have no regrets.

Hi I am a Youth Activities CM. As long as there is covid, there will be a risk of catching it no matter where you go. However, I have actually seen very few children test positive while on the cruise.
You will not know if the children can be together until you cruise. Speak to the CMs on Edge.
Please feel free to DM me if you have further questions.
