Why do they list them separately to buy direct, are they not the same thing? Is there any reason for it?

Most people like myself own at Kidani if you have an AKV contract. Theres just a lot more Kidani points than Jambo. Functionally there is no difference but when you go to book, except it automatically checks Kidani but not Jambo on the booking screen. Again, not that you can’t book Jambo at 11 months but technically your deeded property is at Kidani. Obviously if your points are actually deeded at Jambo then Jambo will be the one checked on the booking page.

Why Disney bothers to separate them? That I’m unsure of. Maybe just to make it seem like they have more properties you can book at instead of lumping the two together.

Yea seems weird, I mean, if different buildings are going to be separate why not Poly or VGF.? (maybe its a bus stop thing. lol)

They started selling Jambo before they sold Kidani - so I guess they just deeded them differently. I wonder if they deeded SSR tree houses differently when they added them to SSR - that would have been the same sales era.
Maybe it has something to do w/ Jambo’s villas being in the same building as the hotel rooms v. Kidani being all DVC, VGF & Poly both converted entire buildings to DVC whereas Jambo just converted the 5th & 6th floors. Or maybe because Jambo is the only DVC that offers a club option?

My best guess is that it's because they are further away from each other compared to the different Poly and VGF buildings? And most people ride the bus between them since there is nothing on the way to see/do.

I do like that my AKV contract happens to be Jambo so it is preselected when I go to look for value or club level rooms though. Didn't really think about it before buying but I think I prefer that mine is Jambo

I’m jealous yours is Jambo 😭 would save me 2 clicks to deselect Kidani and then select Jambo. Guess I need to sell my AKV and roll the dice again for Jambo 😂

Yeah, both of my AKV resale contracts are at Kidani & we always stay at Jambo. As long as I can book Jambo at 11 months I guess I’ll stick w/ my grandfathered resale AKV Kidani points rather than trying to replace them w/ restricted resale Jambo points.
I have considered buying 25 Jambo points direct for this.🤣
Now there’s a thought - that would ‘even up’ my AKV points too, right now they’re trailing my VGF points by exactly 25 points.

In terms of use, they are the same. I believe that Disney will continue to allow resale to book at any of the 14 existing resorts (obviously minus VDH, Cabins, Riviera, etc.). In my view, the only way that the difference between Kidani and Jambo would matter is if Disney in the future restricted resale use to a home resort. In this case, I'd much rather have Jambo due to value and club rooms. I have just one AKV banner in my signature, but most of my points are at Jambo.

It is true that Jambo House was built first, but it was a hotel only. Kidani Village was the first of the two to be a DVC resort. Jambo House was adapted to include DVC rooms.
