To avoid confusion, I am not announcing any news or rumors. Just for fun only, let's imagine if Disney made a new thrill ride based on Disney/Pixar's A Bug's Life at WDW's Magic Kingdom (Tomorrowland) or Epcot (Future World). The story of the ride takes place after the events of the movie in an indefinite future.

In the first section of the waiting area, guests watch overhead TVs that present a prologue for the adventure they will experience. The ants of Ant Island enjoy generations of peace after their victory over Hopper's grasshopper gang. The determination and ingenuity of Flik, who becomes a legend, inspires many of the ants to become defending warriors of their colony should the grasshoppers one day return to invade the island. As a result of their defeat, the grasshoppers become scattered across the land near to the point of oblivion. Over time, however, descendants of the gang reunify ready for revenge against the ant colony whose ancestors forced their forbearers to retreat in atrocity...

The story begins in the next section of the queue area where the guests arrive at a insectology institute which features the latest invention that shrinks humans to the size of an ant. From the overhead TVs, it is explained that one of the institute's scientists was recently shrunk and sent to an ant colony to study life there. Unfortunately, the institute has mysteriously lost contact with the scientist. Worse to come is that a rainstorm is headed for the vicinity of the ant colony which can be dangerous for small insects and ant-sized humans. The guests are recruited to search for and rescue the scientist and return to normal size together before the storm hits. After the guests board their vehicles at the loading area, they travel through a tunnel where they become shrunk.

It is nighttime on Ant Island. As the guests' vehicle travels towards the scientist's homing signal, heads of ants are seen popping out of the tiny shrubs, grass and stalks. Suddenly, the guests run into the grasshoppers who are momentarily stunned by the sight of the strange looking insects. They decide to squish the humans for getting in their way, but before they can the ants come out from their hiding places attacking with their weapons against the grasshoppers. The guests speed away to safety as the two sides fight each other. After driving through the grass jungle and zipping past a few other ant/GH battlefronts, the humans arrive at the ant colony itself where most of the confrontation is taking place. The fighting between the island ants and the grasshoppers solves the mystery why the institute lost contact with the scientist as the scientist was forced to find safe shelter from the chaos. The vehicle falls into a hole dug by the GHs who attempt to overrun the colony from the inside. More fighting within the colony continues as the guests drive their way back to the surface. Back above ground, the ants gain the upper hand forcing the GHs to begin retreating. The institute warns the guests that the storm is getting closer to their position. As the humans hurry up to retrieve the scientist, grasshoppers appear to attack them; although now defeated by their old enemy once more and in full retreat, the GHs decide to assault on whoever or whatever they can get their hands on as a constellation prize. A small group of ants who continue to pursue the grasshoppers ambush them allowing the guests to escape. The scientists' homing signal becomes stronger but the vehicle pulls up next to a bird's nest rudely waking its resident bird. Although not supposed to be its prey, the bird perceives the humans as insects and chases after them to feast on. Raindrops begin to fall from the sky indicating that the storm has arrived. The guests seek refuge from both bird and rain inside exposed roots of a tree where they find the scientist safe and alive. The guests and the scientist prepare for the institute to retrieve them when the bird manages to stick its head through the roots preparing to eat the humans. As the bird is about to snatch them, the guests and scientist are beamed out and restored to normal size.

As the vehicle approaches the unload area, the institute thanks the guests for finding the scientist and invites them to come back to visit anytime. The guests exit their vehicle and walk through a possible post-show area and/or gift shop on their way out of the attraction building.
