So John Hopkins Newsletter presented data saying that the deaths of Covid were not as excessive as we are being led to believe.
They then retracted the article, because people were using the data inaccurately.
But they have now put the data back up in a PDF.
And then go on to say this doctor isn't a medical doctor.
Why publish it in the first place?
Rather than scrub it form its existence (which would most assuredly get people riled up with accusations of cover up, lies and all sorts of things) they've gone the route of providing a warning while still making the newsletter ultimately still available to view somewhere. I do see exactly where you are coming from though that it can send mixed messages.
