Isn't Everyone a Child at Disney World?

Going soon with DH, DD20, and DD15. We're hoping for a Dream, but know it is a long shot. Have any of you gotten a Dream from the Dream Team with older children? Are they mostly given to families with younger children?

The Dreams are completely random, so you have a chance. The magical moments are more discretionary, so they probably go to younger kids more often.

What are examples of "Dreams" and examples of "Moments"?

Dreams are the official prizes in the Year of a Million Dreams Giveaway. Dreams/prizes are awarded ENTIRELY at random, based on computer-generated instructions, and in compliance with ALL applicable sweepstakes contest laws. They are given out by Dream Team members who have absolutely NO say in where or when or under what criteria - or even when, for that matter, until just before a prize is to be awarded.

Moments, on the other hand, are special little things given by Cast Members - a free ice cream, being Family of the Day at a certain counter service restaurant, pins, etc.

So what are examples of a "Dream" other than the night at Cinderella's castle? Is going to the front of the line at a ride considered a "moment" for instance?

Dreams can be Mickey Ears hats, pins, Dream fastpasses, shopping sprees, extra hours, etc.
Moments are little, special things that Disney has done before the YOAMD.

Other than the night in the castle, are the dreams only awarded through the mail in postcards? Or do they randomly select winners by computer in the parks?

You can win in the parks too. For example, the Dream Team might give everyone in a particular Tomorrowland Transit Authority train a Dream Fastpass. It works like that.

If it's on the list and awarded by a member of the Dream Team, it's a Year of a Million Dreams PRIZE. If a Cast Member grants some surprise that's not on the list, it's a MOMENT.
