Inspired by all the Dec. 2003 threads: Who's got plans for Dec 2004?

Just wondering if with all the aches and pains of going in December will have some of you vacationing at other times of year or will you still be there in 2004?

I am going in Nov this year for my DD b-day, but I am going to attempt to trade BCV ressies with an OKW owner so I can get a GV and invite my extended family down for Dec 4-11, 2004. A long shot, I know, but I hope to do that so they all can see WDW with the decorations, etc.

We are planning our next trip for December, 2004. I know, a long way off, but we'll have 2 visits to Hilton Head between now and then. That will keep us going for a while. Not sure yet where we want to stay. We went 12/14-21 (stayed at AKL & BCV) this past year because it ended when school was out, therefore, DS had a 3 week break instead of 2 weeks. Our next trip may be earlier December though.

I am looking into renting points for Christmas 2004. There will be 3-4 adults, a 13 and a 15 year old. I know about the points calculator, but isn't the one bedroom too small, and the two bedroom too large?? And what is the possibility that I could even get points for Christmas 2004? Any help would be appreciated! Also, where can I go to see floor plans, with number of bathrooms and sleeping arrangements for the various DVC resorts? Thanks, Renessa

renessa - there is a Rent/Trade Board here on the DIS where you can ask about renting. I know that you can check out the resort info on wdwinfo.com and wdwig.com and probably even the public portion of disneyvacationclub.com to see about room sizes, etc.

Two bedroom would not be too large if you can afford the extra points. It's very nice to have the living room unoccupied. Also with two teens, they would probably want their own beds, a one bedroom comes with one king.

A 2 bedroom is NOT too large for 5 or 6 people. We've stayed in a BWV two bedroom with both 5 (once) and 6 people (twice) and this December it's probably only going to be 3 (maybe 4) of us. The two bedrooms have a king bed in the master bedroom, a queen sleeper sofa in the linging room and either two queen beds or one queen bed & a sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. If you can arrange things so that no one needs to sleep in the the kitchen/living room area, it will be heavenly! (That might be tough though, depending on the make up of your party). I freely admit that I am spoiled - just love keeping the living room free for those who stay up late or those who get up early!

If you want to rent points for Christmas, start looking for someone with points to rent at least 12 -13 months ahead of time. The owner will need to make the reseration when the 11 month window opens in January, 2004 to ensure that you get your choice of resorts and unit size.

Back to topic so the thread doesn't get locked...any other Dec regulars planning to travel at a different time of year with all the hype on how difficult obtaining Dec 2003 ressies have been?

We are heading down this Oct., but we too have plans for the first 2 weeks of Dec. next year See you there!

We hope to visit OKW/WDW for two weeks in late Jan or early Feb. 2004, then for one week the first or second week or Dec. 2004. The only change may be that we decide to visit in Oct. 2004 for Halloween instead of Dec.

We've gone the first or second week of December the past 5 years and love it! I did the day by day thing last week & Monday for this December, it wasn't that bad. I hope if that reallocation rumor is true that they don't bump up the points for early December.

I believe our family now has a tradition of going the 1st week of December. In 2003 it will be our 3rd trip at this time of year - 2nd dec trip as DVC members. Personally I have never had any trouble booking any trip (2 1st wk dec, 2 summer and 1 late march) since becoming a DVC member. I hope our luck holds out Although I know I am bound to run into booking problems before 2042

We plan on going early Dec every year. Due to my work schedule it is just about the only time we can go other than holidays. It just happens to be a great time to go to WDW as well! I hope they don't fool with the points but if they do we'll go at this time anyway.

I just this minute talked to my sister and we are planning a trip in Dec, 2004. It will probably be Dec 4-11 also. We have to work on Christmas and that is out for us. I can't wait to see all the decorations again. It is a great magical place at Christmas. I just hate that it is so warm. We like cold at Christmas unlike our northern DVC friends. It rarely snows here so we don't go south to get away from winter weather. Hope we see you there even though it is almost 2 years away. Boy, how we plan ahead!!!

Ooh, ooh, we're going too. We decided that we have enough points to go once in the summer and then every other Christmas. Unfortunately, because I teach, we're limited to school holidays. We went this Christmas and had a FANTASTIC time. Can't wait to do it again!

We are there from Nov31 to Dec 13 of 04. We will be at OKW this trip not my first choice but we are also getting a room for my dad and brother and sisters so we opted for cheap point usage this time
