I Wonder if Disney Will Get Mad if We Disassemble the Furniture. Sept/Oct 2024 TR! (Updated 2/18!)

Our next stop was France, but not the food booth, we were heading back to Les Halles! We wanted to pick up more pastries for breakfast. I ended up getting the quiche Lorraine, and mom got a pastry with pears.
Les Halles has some of the best food. It is easy to grab something for later/
I enjoyed some of my grapefruit beer while there as well, gotta love that stuff!
I love that stuff, too. It has to be icy cold, though. We can buy it at home, which is great.

No stop at Les Halles is complete without a baguette. Give me a hunk of that bread with some butter and I am a happy, happy girl.

You know, I don't think we've ever gotten a baguette there! We get croissants a lot and some other pastries, but I don't think a baguette ever. We'll need to try one!

Once again we have a snow day, which means I now have a full extra day free so I can get back to writing this TR! :cool1:

We actually got a decent amount of snow, they predicted 4"-6", and it looks like we got a bit more than 6". My dog is loving it, I am not as much though since this storm had the super wet heavy snow so shoveling took way longer this time around, but hey, mini workout right?

At least it's pretty!

So keep an eye out for a new update coming soon!

Not to exaggerate but...it is life changing. I don't leave the park with a half baguette anymore. Luckily, I always stay at Pop so I swing by France on my way to the Skyliner and pick it up before I head out. And it's good for whatever might ail you - when I was so sick for Scotty's wedding? First thing I was able to eat was the baguette. When I got a little tipsy at Thanksgiving (twice) because my tolerance has gotten to negative numbers - baguette to the rescue!!! Now, the very nice looking French men will look at you weird when you only order the bread but whatever dude. I'm a fluffy girl and I want my yummy French carbs.

HAAAA! I think this is the best review I've ever read! :rotfl2: Ok, you've sold me on getting a baguette, will definitely try one when we're there in June!

Day 6, Part 6: Hollywood Studios!

After a nice break at the YC we got ready to head out again around 4 this afternoon.

This afternoon we were heading over to HS! We had LLMP this day, so we had AS2 booked at 4, Slinky at 4:40, TSMM at 5:20, and RotR at 6:05. We also had a mobile order in at Docking Bay 7 at 7:15. Not too shabby of a lineup!

We decided to take the skyliner over this time, so started to make our way over to the Epcot station. Well, just as we got to the ship slide, mom realized we forgot to bring our water bottles, so we ran back to the room to grab them. Gotta love getting extra steps in while in Disney! :rotfl:

Once we grabbed the water bottles we headed out again and this time made it to the skyliner station. There was surprisingly a bit of a line to get on, but it didn’t take long, and we got our own car which we appreciated.

The skyliner this afternoon ended up taking a while, over 30 minutes! Usually it takes 18-20, but we kept stopping like every 30 seconds, especially on the Epcot line, so it took forever.

We did finally make it to HS around 4:40, and since it looked like storms were coming we decided to use our Slinky LL first since that may go down. On the way over I also tried to book a DAS for MMRR, but it was down, so we didn’t book anything.

We did stop for some photopass pictures on the way over of course!

When we got to Slinky we saw it too was down, but just as we were about to leave it opened up again so we scanned into the LL and got in line.

There was a bit of a wait in the LL, guess a lot of people had been hanging around waiting for the ride to come back up! After about 20 minutes we finally got to the point where we were assigned a row and made our way over to wait for our train. While waiting I booked us another LLMP for MFSR with a return time of 5:15.

The train before ours that had just loaded ended up just sitting there for a few minutes, so we started getting nervous it broke down again, but then that train was off, so we thought we were good.

But then our train that was in the unload station didn’t move. Uh oh. So we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, after about 10 minutes the CM came through to clear the line, Slinky was down again. They did scan our magicbands though to give us anytime LLs for it so we could try again later.

Our LL for AS2 had expired by that point, but we were in the grace period, so we headed there next and fortunately this ride was running, and there was no wait!

At some point MMRR did come back up, so I booked us a DAS for that for later.

After AS2 we headed over to TSMM to use our LLMP there next. This time my mom almost beat me, it was scary!

Next we were into our LL time for MFSR so headed that way. We ended up engineers this time, but we rode with the most amazingly fun family ever! They warned us that they got VERY loud and VERY into the ride, and they didn’t lie! But it made the ride SO much fun, even as engineers! Loved that families energy!

As we were exiting MFSR, I checked the app and saw that Slinky had just come back online, so we headed back there to use the anytime LL. We scanned in, and again had a bit of a wait, this time only about 15 minutes. Since we were making really good time moving through all our pre-booked rides, I changed our mobile order time for dinner to be a bit earlier, 7:05 instead of 7:15.

As we were waiting, a CM came on the loudspeaker to announce that storms were rolling into Andy’s backyard so Slinky may go down again soon.

NOOOOO!

I pulled up the weather app on my phone and saw that sure enough storms were almost there.

But, after a very suspenseful wait, we got assigned our row again, this time at the back of the train (yay!), and this time we actually got on!

We JUST missed them closing the ride, while on it it started to rain, but we made it!

After Slinky it was 6:06 so we made our way to our RotR LL. There was no wait with the LL, we just walked right into the preshow, that was nice!

When we got into the stormtrooper room I was shocked that the CMs weren’t rushing us through like usual. They actually let us mill around and take pictures! In fact, they never even once told us where to go, it was weird!

Eventually we meandered over to the line and eventually on the ride. It was fun as always, but I feel like every time I ride more things are broken. This time that hovering droid at the beginning was totally static, and of course the cannons have been down for years.

When we got off Rise it was 6:30, and we were getting pretty hungry, so I went to see if I could change our mobile order time again, and was thrilled I could and I could select an immediate pick-up! So I changed that and we made the short commute over to Docking Bay 7.

Now, it had poured while we were on Rise and was still drizzling a bit, so the restaurant was absolutely packed and there were no tables available inside, lots of people weren’t even eating, they were just hanging around to stay out of the rain. I wish CMs would kick those people out so those with food had a place to eat.

Anyways, it was a very light drizzle at that point, so we opted to just head outside, and found a booth with an umbrella so we could stay dry.

We got our usual meal here, the crispy topato stir fry. We really love this meal! It was a bit different this time though, it was actually a bit spicy! Fortunately we like spice, but good to remember for when my dad comes again since he hates spicy food.

We also each got the Gold Squadron lager, which is my favorite, I love that beer so much!

After dinner we were getting pretty tired, but we still had our DAS for MMRR, so we made our way over there to ride.

Finally it was time to head out. We lucked out and made it to the boat dock just as a boat arrived! While waiting for them to dock and unload we were chatting with the family in front of us, and they were bragging about HOW many rides they had done in three hours, so of course we asked what they rode, and it was just ToT, MMRR, and Rise. It was hard not to laugh, we too had been there for about 3 hours and had done twice as many rides AND ate dinner in that time!

Now, originally we planned to hop off at the Swalphin since it’s usually faster to walk from there, but it had started raining again, so we decided to stay on the boat to the YC.

Once off, we ran upstairs to grab our refillable mugs to get some powerade, then settled into the room for the night. We had some wine and chocolate and watched Only Murders in the Building (we love this show, and love we can access our streaming services on the room tvs now!).

Next up: We Finally try Gideon’s!

The skyliner this afternoon ended up taking a while, over 30 minutes!
We like the Skyliner and often take it when we are returning to YC or BC. But it isn't always the fastest.

They did scan our magicbands though to give us anytime LLs for it so we could try again later
Did you have to ask for the anytime LL's? We had a LL for Pirates and it was down for our entire LL window. But they just changed the LL to 9pm for our original 6:30pm. I would have preferred an anytime LL.

We often walk to and from the YC, unless the boat is approaching.

Yeah, we like riding it for fun between the parks, but it does get annoying when it stops constantly!

Nope, maybe because we already scanned in we got the anytime LL?

We've done the walk a few times, but I'm not a fan of the span between HS and the Boardwalk, it feels so long (I know it's not really, but after a long day it feels like it is!). So usually we take the boat to the Swan/Dolphin then walk from there.

Your evening at Hollywood Studios sounded fun! Slinky Dog was a bit of fiasco (I'm glad you made it on the second time before it shut down again!), but you did well squeezing in so many other attractions.

I'm surprised Docking Bay 7 isn't like Satuli Canteen where you need a mobile pickup to enter... but perhaps they don't want to do that so people can come in and look at the restaurant? (It is neat!) I enjoyed our food at Docking Bay 7 but your stir fry looks really good!

Maybe that is the reason you got an anytime LL when the ride went down. We hadn't scanned into Pirates yet. And it was down prior to our check in time.

It was a lot of fun, and I'm impressed with how much we got done! I'm glad we made it onto Slinky, we love that ride, but I do sometimes wish it was indoors so we wouldn't have to worry about the weather!

Right? Although the people in there may have already ate and then were just hanging out waiting for the storm to pass, but still, I wish the CMs would make people move on after they've finished eating or if they didn't eat at all. The stir fry there is SO good, we always comment on how it's shocking that it's quick service food!

Yeah, I can see that. Since we had already scanned in and used our LL, the CMs had to scan our magic bands to add the new LLs, so that's probably why we got the anytimes.

Day 7, Part 1: We Finally Try Gideon’s!

This morning we got to sleep in, yay! We ended up waking up a bit before 8, and had a lazy morning enjoying our pastries and slowly getting ready.

A little after 9 I called for a Minnie Van and got one, but it wasn’t supposed to arrive until 9:30, so we just relaxed more in the room.

Shortly before the car was due to arrive we made our way downstairs to meet our driver.

This morning we were heading over to Disney Springs!

We got dropped off just before 10, and quickly made our way to our first stop of the trip, the line for Gideon’s!

We had never been before, so it was about time!

There was a line already when we arrived around 9:45, maybe 20 or so groups ahead of us. Once they opened at 10 about half the line were ushered in. Shortly after they handed out menus to those of us still waiting in the line outside.

It wasn’t a horrible wait, we made it inside within about 10 minutes after opening.

I knew I wanted to try the original chocolate chip cookie, and decided to also get the October special one, the Frankenstein. I also got the French toast cold brew, which was AMAZING. Mom just got the Frankenstein cookie.

Goodies in hand we headed out. I downed my cold brew in no time, I think it lasted maybe 3 minutes. ::yes:: It was really good!

Our next stop was World of Disney. Here mom got some gifts for her sister, and I was looked for a fun new shirt or sweater, but I didn’t see anything that I liked. I did however find a new pair of ears I had to get, the Remy ones, and I think they had just been released since I hadn’t seen them before, but after this I saw them in all the shops and it seemed the everyone bought them since I saw so many people wearing them later in the trip! They are really cute.

After WoD we went to check out the Lego store. I already have the old Lego Castle, but I still want to get the new one, but right now can’t justify spending that much money on it, also there was no way I could fit that in my luggage, so it was a quick browse.

At some point my mom mentioned that she really wanted to buy a new pair of shorts. We didn’t see any in WoD, but I thought maybe they’d have some over at the Co-op, so we made our way over there. While we didn’t find shorts there, we did find something I’ve been wanting for months, the Up lamp!

I had wanted to buy it for myself for my birthday back in June, but was waiting for payday to purchase, and of course by the time I got paid it had sold out online. I kept looking for months, but it never came back in stock. This whole trip I would look in all the stores for it, but no luck. I had completely given up on finding it. So I was beyond thrilled when I found it at the Co-op!

(Yes, that is the Lego Up house behind it, that’s my Up corner, I also have some Up art on the wall here)

I’m obsessed with this thing. The only downside is the packaging it came in was massive. It came in Styrofoam that was like 30” long by 18” wide and 12” tall. I wanted to keep it in that to protect it, and it did fit in my suitcase, but it also meant that I couldn’t fit my other stuff in my suitcase. Oh well, that was a problem for another day!

It was still pretty early after purchasing my lamp, just before 11, and our lunch reservation wasn’t until noon, so we decided to do a bit more shopping.

We took some pictures as we wandered.

The only other store I wanted to stop by was Bowes. Last time we were at DS, they didn’t have a full shop, they just had a corner in the Co-op, but now they had a full store I wanted to check it out and stock up on my favorite scent, clover world!

It took a while to find the store, I had no idea where it was, but we found it eventually. I got my beloved clover world and one of their special fall scents, fall spice.

It was still a bit before our lunch reservation when we wrapped up at Bowes, so we went to get some pictures in front of the Lego store.

Love this guy.

At that point we were getting super overheated, so decided to see if we could check in a bit early for our lunch reservation, so we made our way over to Wine Bar George!

Next up: Wine Bar George!
