I Wonder if Disney Will Get Mad if We Disassemble the Furniture. Sept/Oct 2024 TR! (Updated 12/20!)

Day 3, Part 10: MNSSHP Part 4!: All the Treats!

We last left off getting some photopass pictures.

At this point we wanted to try to get our treat bags filled up, so we made our way back to the treat trails by Tiana’s.

This time of night, a bit after 10:30, the CMs were dumping handfuls of candy into our bags.

We hit up the treat trail at Tiana’s, then the one across from Big Thunder, before heading to the one in Diamond Horseshoe. By the time we wrapped up those three trails, our bags were overflowing. Fortunately, we each brought a secondary bag to stuff candy in!

It was about 10:45 when we exited the Diamond Horseshoe treat trail, so we decided to go get a spot for the parade.

We lucked out and got front row seats in our usual spot across from Country Bears.

Once again the Bears were out entertaining before the parade, and once Wendell saw me (again) he rushed over and tried to drag me out to dance with him! But at that point my legs were way too happy to be sitting so I declined. Ugh, stupid getting older.

I thought we had missed the headless horseman ride since it was getting very close to the start of the parade, but then about 5 minutes before the parade started, his music started and shortly after he rode by!

I think there was some issues at the start of this parade, not only did the Headless Horseman ride super late, but when the parade started, it was only the music for 10 minutes but no parade! It was really odd, and where we were sitting was very close to the start (and we could see where it started) so it shouldn’t have taken that long for the parade to get to us.

The parade did eventually show up, and per usual was awesome!

Unlike the fireworks, the parade seemed a bit longer this year!

The parade wrapped up in our area at 11:30, so we quickly headed to Adventureland to hit up more treat trails. We got in line for the one by Pirates, and were a bit annoyed it was taking FOREVER for the line to move, but once it was our turn we realized why, the CMs were filling everyone bags to the brim! Thank goodness we brought extra bags! We dumped most of this candy into our backpacks.

We then stopped by the treat trail at Jungle Cruise, which again was a super slow line, but again because the CMs were filling everyones bag to the brim.

By the time we were done with that line our bags needed to be emptied again into our spare bags, and there was only about 5 minutes left of the party. So we quickly dumped the candy into our backpacks, and headed to one last treat trail, back at the Diamond Horseshoe!

This one moved fast, so we actually went through twice, taking a quick break to dump most of the candy from the first round (which again filled up the entire bag) into our backpacks.

The second round they had us put the treat bags in the bins so they could easily just dump all the candy in to fill them up completely again.

Seriously, we got so much candy this year, this was the most I think we’ve ever gotten. Both of our backpacks were full of candy as were the candy bags!

Also at Diamond Horseshoe, one of the CMs there told me that I had her favorite costume of the night! Yay!

After our second round at Diamond Horseshoe, it was 12:03, so we headed into the Hub to watch the Hocus Pocus show. Oh, and there was a family there that I’m pretty sure thought we were stalking them throughout the night. So we had been behind them in line at the dessert party and ended up sitting next to them there, then later we ended up sitting like two parties down from them at the parade, and when we found a spot to watch the Hocus Pocus show, I glance over, and there they were again! What are the odds?!?!

The show was good, but we were getting tired, so started to make our way out during the finale.

There was fortunately zero line for the resort monorail, and there was one waiting when we arrived, so it was a super quick trip back to the hotel.

Once back, we spent some time winding down and enjoying some wine we had picked up at the club level earlier.

Overall it was a fantastic night, and we LOVED not having to bus back to the YC. I think we’ll definitely stay at a MK resort in the future for the night of the party! (And actually we are for the Christmas party next year, I’m so excited!)

Next up: We Love Photopass!

It’s been a few years since I’ve done a MNSSHP but I don’t remember that cool Ursula or Haunted Mansion Bride before! I guess there must have been some additions?

Yes - best tip ever! Always bring a secondary bag for candy :)

Wow! you got so much candy! WDW and MNSSHP are always so good about the candy - the one year we did Oogie Boogie Bash they ran out of candy early and weren't giving a ton, but I feel like MNSSHP they're refilling right up to the end of the night and just giving tons of candy to guests. Awesome!

Isn't the monorail back to the hotel so awesome!? definitely one of our favorite parts of staying there. :D I'm excited to be staying at Grand Floridian while we do MVMCP this time! :)

What a fun "problem" to have, to need to finish this report quickly because so many more are coming!! I can't wait!! What a cute costume! I love that you and your mom have a regular table at the dessert party. And party secret noted -- go through the candy trails at the end of the night for max candy!! Also noted the grab some wine for later concierge tip. You two have these trips down to a science!!!!!

Boo to You is my favorite Disney parade of all time!! And now that song will be stuck in my head all day.

Yeah, they seem to make some changes every year, the bride is so cool!

Oh yeah, we had actually debated bringing the extra bags, obviously I'm so glad we ended up bringing them!

I still can't believe how much candy we got, it was awesome! That sucks about Oogie Boogie, hopefully they learned to stock up on more candy!

It was so amazing, especially being the first stop on the way back! We're staying at the GF next December, so we're also super excited to be there for MVMCP. Being in those monorail resorts is so nice for the parties!

Haha, right? I'm so excited for all the upcoming trips!

Thanks, that costume was so awesome, albeit super hot. Definitely going to use it again some year! And haha, yeah, we usually like the corner table, but this year the tables around it were suuuuuper close, which just didn't look comfortable, so we opted to go to the table with a bit more space.

Oh yeah, at the end of the night they just dump candy into your bags. I still have a huge bag full of that candy at home!

It is such a great parade, and the song is such an earworm! I walk around singing it for weeks after seeing the parade!

Day 4, Part 1: We Love Photopass!

After the late night, we had plans to sleep in this morning, but when does that ever work out in Disney? :rotfl2:

Our alarms were set for 9am, but my mom woke up right at 7 and started banging around which woke me up.

Although I couldn’t really be mad at her since she had good reason to be up.

So she still teaches, and in MA they passed a law a while back that any teacher that has an English as a second language (ESL) student in their class has to take this very intense class on how to teach these students English. (Even math and science teachers, which my mom is, are now required to spend a portion of their class time teaching English if they have an ESL student)

Since the class my mom teaches is for students who have a harder time learning (either due to learning disabilities, or being an ESL) she has an ESL student this year so has to take the class. This class is kinda ridiculous with the work load. She has to write multiple papers a week for it (the week we were in Disney she had four to write!), and read a ton of papers, most 60+ pages long and post thoughts on each paper every week. And she has to do this on top of her regular teaching duties, so she has been SO stressed out this fall and overwhelmed with this additional workload.

In a lucky turn of events, this class didn’t meet the week we were in Disney due to the holiday, so the timing was great. But she had so much homework to do for it, every morning she would get up early and go find a place to sit and do the work. I felt horrible for her, and it really did impact the trip, she constantly wanted to get back to the room to get through more of the homework. So that was a bit of a bummer, so this morning I couldn’t really be mad at her for getting up early to try to get work done. The more she got done in the morning, the less stressed she was later in the day!

Anyways, so she got up at 7 this morning to do more homework, and ended up waking me up.

I tried to fall back asleep, but couldn’t, so finally a bit before 8 I gave up and got up.

A bit after 8 we headed to the lounge to grab breakfast.

This is hilarious, apparently I haven't had my coffee yet :rotfl:

This morning I got some eggs, bacon, cheesy potatoes, coffee, POG juice, and of course a POGmosa!

It was all delicious! Seriously, breakfast at the club level lounges is my favorite, the food is so good!

After breakfast we headed back to the room to finish getting ready before heading out around 9.

I called for a Minnie Van just after 9 and was thrilled to get one right away! So we headed downstairs to wait for our driver.

This morning we were heading to Epcot!

We arrived at Epcot around 9:35, and did our favorite activity once we got in, took pictures!!

Ok, we took tons of pictures, so I gotta break this into a second post!

Next up: Will I Finally Get My Missing Song?

Day 4, Part 2: Will I Finally Get My Missing Song?

We last left off getting photopass pictures at the front of the park. After getting a bunch with the photopass photographers, we took some of our own as well.

We had a LL booked for Guardians this morning, but it was still a bit too early for it, so while we waited for it to be our time we decided to go browse Creations a bit.

We found some stuff we wanted, but since we didn’t want to carry it around with us, we didn’t buy anything. Again, I really miss the ship to resort!

After our shopping trip, we were finally getting close to our return time and headed over to Guardians! We scanned in 5 minutes early since we really do love the buffers.

This time we got Everybody Wants to Rule the World.

Still no Disco Inferno. I seriously am starting to think that song doesn’t actually play on this ride. It’s been years and dozens of rides now, and still no Disco!

Next up: Mom’s First Taste of Food and Wine!

The club lounge has the best breakfasts, all of the lounges. :)

I had one of those circle pictures taken at MK and my neck looks super-long. You picture turned out nice. :)

I love Disco Inferno. I've seen other people say that they have never heard September.

Yikes. Your mom's class sounds really intense. As if we need to make teachers' jobs harder! I have had Disco Inferno so I can confirm it exists. Conga is the one I've never had ... but I'm kinda ok with that. :rolleyes1

Thank you!

I can't wait to get Disco, eventually! It's funny, for the longest time I was only getting September. This trip I ended up with I Ran almost every ride. Hopefully in January we'll finally get Disco!

Yeah, it's crazy how much work she has for this class. And she only teaches one class since she's semi-retired, I can't imagine how hard it must be for teachers who are full time. I feel like there has to be an easier way!

I think I've only gotten Conga once, maybe twice. September is my favorite, I ran is my least (which is what we kept getting this past trip ). Fingers crossed we'll finally get Disco in January!
