I Wonder if Disney Will Get Mad if We Disassemble the Furniture. Sept/Oct 2024 TR! (Updated 12/20!)

Sorry about the stomach issues. I hope they are better now. Have the doctors checked your gall bladder? Most people get acute attacks, but I had near constant stomach pain and nausea for months before it was determined to be my gall bladder. And in my case, stress (which was constant at the time at work) made things so much worse. I was ready to rip it out myself since apparently mine was not an acute attack so I was put on a schedule almost 2 months later to have it removed.
Thank you! I've had a CT scan, and they said everything looked normal, but I'm not sure if gall bladder issues would show up on that. I'm sorry to hear about yours, that sounds miserable! I have an appointment later this week, and another next week, with some specialists, so hopefully they can figure out what is going on. At least I'm feeling significantly better than I was in the weeks leading up to the trip. I just hate not knowing what's going on!

:welcome: , thanks for joining into the latest TR! And aw man, that would have been fun if we ran into each other!

Yeah, it was pretty great weather for September. Although we kept mentioning how it felt hotter than usual for late September. Like the afternoon storms that usually cool it off for a bit seemed to have made it hotter this trip. But maybe we had just acclimated to the cooler weather up north before the trip, it got cool in our areas super early this year so heading from the 70s (for me) and the 50s (for my mom) to the 80s and 90s really hit us hard this trip!

Yay! I hope you enjoy!
Totally forgot to mentioned that heat. You are SO right. We go often. FL is hot for our usual May/Sept trips. This trip there were at least 2 days that daughter and I said out loud "Holy Cow" it's hot.

Nehemiah 8:10 (AMP), “…the joy of the LORD is your strength and your stronghold.”

Isaiah 43:1 (Tanakh), “…Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name, thou art Mine.”

Daughter never ever perspires (one of those weird people). Her face was DRIPPING wet! (Mine always is in FL) AND it was only 91. I blamed the hurricane for that particular humidity that was shocking. Our May trip was stunningly perfect. Never hot, never chilly at night but this Sept trip was WOW.

I totally forgot to mention the heat! You were SO right! We go every September (and May and January) and this Sept was a killer. My daughter is one of those weird people who never sweats. Never. This trip her face was dripping perspiration. We couldn't believe it. It was 'only' 91 (we've been there at 100). We think it might have been the hurricane and extra moisture in the air. So you are so correct in saying it felt HOT and extremely (even for FL) humid. Wow.

PLEASE IGNORE THE SCRIPTURES. I was cutting & pasting and don't know what happened. I have such poor tech skills lately (well....a lot of the time). I'm so sorry. I think I should simply read entries and not reply.

I am looking forward to your trip report. I am sorry to hear of your stomach issues and hope it gets figured out quickly. My aunt recently went through something similar and hers ended up being diverticulitis.

So excited to read about you and your mom’s adventures!! You Ladies have the most fun!!!

Yeah, it was very steamy this year! We normally are fine with it, but there were a few days we had to throw in the towel and head back to the room early to cool off. Never had that happen before!

No worries! Happens to all of us!

:welcome:, thanks for joining! And thank you! It's funny, my mom's friend said the same thing about the stomach pain, she had diverticulitis years ago and thought my pain sounded just like what she went through.

Day 1, Part 2: The First Hotel of the trip…BWV!

We last left off with me arriving at the Boardwalk! I arrived right at 3:20.

I checked in with a CM in the lobby, and was thrilled my room was ready already! I was staying in the DVC side this night, so didn’t expect the room to be ready before 4, so this was a nice surprise.

I was in room 1078 on the first floor. I’m not usually happy about a first-floor room, but for one night it was fine.

My room looked out onto the main pool area and was a nice room. It was a bit smaller than the hotel side we’re used to, but for just myself it was perfect.

I will say it was a very very loud room. The bass from the pool speaker was super loud so it sounded like I was next to a club. Thankfully they did turn the music off right at 10pm, but if you like mid-day naps, this isn’t a great location for a room unless you can sleep through a house party next door!

Oh, and one very odd thing, when I got to the room, the door was open. It was a bit concerning, but I checked the whole room and no one was there, but was a bit worrisome!

Once in the room I called my mom to let her know I arrived safely and to chat a bit about her arrival the next morning. I also spent a bit of time reorganizing my suitcase since I did a horrible job packing.

I was so stressed out and not feeling well before the trip, when I packed I just kinda threw my stuff in various bags with no rhyme or reason, which isn’t the end of the world, but with having a triple split stay knowing where things are and having things organized by hotel stay makes life so much easier. So I really wanted to get things a bit more organized once I got there.

After getting things sorted a bit I was getting a bit hungry, which at this point was such a good sign since it had been weeks since I’d felt hungry, so I freshened up a bit and headed out to Epcot!

Next up: First Taste of Food and Wine!

We stayed in a Beach Club studio in April and that room was very similar to your room. I wish we had opened the small drop-down bed because the picture that you posted is really cute.

:)

You got hungry!!!! Yay. That's a good sign for things to come in your trip.

I don't know how you do those split stays. I have considered it but I am such a creature of habit that I think that would disrupt my trip mentally a lot more than I would benefit. Give me 1 room for the entire time so I can unpack and set up my life.

I wish I opened the murphy bed as well to see what art they had hidden there! I had meant to, but totally forgot until it was too late. Oh well, guess I'll just have to stay again!

Right? It was such a relief to finally be hungry! I felt like I was well on my way to recovery then.

Yeah, we've lost our minds. :rotfl2: To be fair, this trip it was originally only two hotels since we wanted to stay at a MK resort for the Halloween party, but afterwards wanted to spend most of our time in Epcot so it just made sense to do two. Then I decided to come in a day early and the discounted rooms were very limited by then so I ended up at the Boardwalk. But yeah, I do prefer to just be in one room the whole trip!

Day 1, Part 3: First Taste of Food and Wine!

We last left off with me heading into Epcot!

On the way in I had to stop at the window to activate my AP. It went quick, and soon I had my new AP activated!

Now, at this point I had been only eating very bland food, so I was a bit worried about how my body would handle food and wine food, but I was getting super hungry so I decided I might as well try it, and worst case I was close to the hotel so I could go back to the room easily if needed.

My first stop was Canada.

While walking over to the Canada booth I could see the line on the far side was super long, stretched all the way out of the physical queue, but I also saw that on the side closest to me they had set up three additional registers, and there was NO ONE in line on that side! So I strolled over and asked if I could order there, and I could! Score! I did notice later in the trip that those registers only seemed to be open on Fridays and the weekend, but if you’re there those days and the line on the side closest to Furtureworld is massive, check out the other side of the booth since those registers may be open with hardly any line!

At Canada I decided to get the filet mignon. I also decided to get the red wine there. I figured I wanted to see if I could drink at that point, and the wine pours at the food booths are super small, so it would be a good test without having to drink a lot.

Food and drink in hand I set out to find a table. I do have to mention, it seems Disney removed a ton of tables this year, all week we had trouble finding open ones.

I did finally find a table by Swirled Showcase, so settled in to enjoy the food.

The steak was amazing this year, cooked perfectly to medium just how I like, and the accompaniments were soooo good!

The wine was also really good, one of my favorites from the festival this year! And great news, neither the food nor the wine seemed to upset my stomach!!! :cool1:

While eating I noticed one of the pumpkins from Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit, so snapped a picture of it for later when we did the hunt.

Once I finished up in Canada, I made my way over to my next food booth, Bramblewood Bites!

Here I got the Bison and the Pork dishes. I also easily found a picnic bench nearby to enjoy. Oddly, these picnic benches were the only tables that always seemed to be available throughout the week. I would think they would be harder to get since you can actually sit, but maybe people just didn’t see them?!? :confused3

The Bison was ok, like the flavors of each individual item on the plate was good, but mixed together it was a bit weird. The pork on the other hand was phenomenal! I loved the pork so much I got it again later in the trip!

After enjoying the food, I decided to check out the store in that area, but didn’t find anything I liked, so made my way to Creations to do more shopping.

At Creations I ended up buying a few F&W shirts for myself.

Next up: More Food and Wine!
