How to book rooms for 2 parties?

My mom, SIL, sister and I may be booking a cruise together. We'll have 2 adults in each room. If we want connecting/adjoining rooms do we need to book both rooms under one reservation? Or can we get adjoining if it's under 2 separate names? Also, does it make it trickier to book alcohol tastings and make sure we get a table together if we're under 2 separate reservations? I just didn't want it to be chaotic when we're trying to separate our charges after the cruise so I was leaning towards separate reservations. Thanks!

You can book under one reservation - you just add a stateroom when you get to that screen. You are able to keep the charges separate for each stateroom.

The stateroom folios (available digitally or by asking Guest Services for a printout) will be clearly separated by stateroom and by person in each stateroom, so separating the charges should be fairly easy.

You can also book separately and ask for the reservations to be linked, which would get you the same dining table and the ability to book activities together (if you have the same Castaway Club level). The risk with this is that you could complete one reservation then find that the neighboring room is no longer available.

You can book under one reservation

Not actually one reservation as each room will have it's own reservation number, but you can book them during the same session, as you noted, by clicking on the "add a stateroom" link.

When you book the rooms together, they should be linked by default. But if not you just make sure you add them on the DCL website. You add in the other room’s reservation number, etc. That will make sure you get a table together. When you make tasting reservations, you can see everyone who is linked to your reservation, even if it’s another reservation number.
