Soft serve cone is $1.99 at the local ice cream place. It was a Dairy Queen for 30 years, and Dairy Queen told the owner she had to spend $500,000 remodeling. She said no. She taped over the Dairy Queen logo on all the equipment, changed the names of things like Blizzards to Glaciers, took down the Dairy Queen sign outside and ran it another 10 years. She just sold out and retired and the new owners haven't changed a thing.
I have seen an ice cream truck on my street a few times, but I have never seen anyone actually stop him and buy anything so no idea what their prices are like.
I just checked, 12 ice cream bars at Walmart are $2.97. When I was a kid I suspect that cost less than $1 because my mom thought ice cream truck prices were a rip off.
I'm not sure what they charge. We don't go out for ice cream. I will say that the ice cream places around us are mostly "boutique" ice cream shops. They have flavors like Honey Lavender, Basil, Salty Pecan Bourbon (I looked those up at a place near us) in addition to the traditional flavors.
No clue, but we do have an ice cream truck that comes through our subdivision.
Truth be told.....I was a mean mom and rarely would buy my kids something from the ice cream truck - to expensive. At the time I always had ice cream, or popsicle treats, in the freezer that they could have whenever they wanted. Now when my DD20 hears the ice cream truck she teases me about how she was neglected because she couldn't get something from the ice cream truck - LOL!!!
I worked at Baskin Robbins in HS (1990-1993) and a single scoop was $1.29. A new Baskin/Dunkin combo store just opened where I live now and a single scoop is $4.39!
