How do you pronounce Reykjavik?

The capital of Iceland? I've always pronounced it "ray-key-a-vick" and so does DH. I'm watching an old episode of The West Wing and they are pronouncing it "wreck-ee-veck". So how do you pronounce it?

I believe Sandy22 is right. My brother was stationed in Iceland for 2 years with the Navy and that is how he pronounces it.

You know when you say it fast all together it really sounds the same. And basically, it's the same way I pronounce it. It really sounded strange the way they were saying it on The West Wing. I really didn't sound correct.

They have a two year old who speaks English away from home and Icelandic at home. She knows that when someone other than her parents or grandparents are at her home, she should speak English to them. She's adorable.
