The week of Black Friday, I ordered a new Flexsteel leather recliner, to replace the one I have. After 10 years it was time. I went to a furniture store that was closer to me, rather than drive an hour away, where the first one came from. I was told my new chair was a custom order because I wanted leather and in a beautiful blue color. I told the saleslady I did not want motorized and wanted recliner/rocker, like what I had. The order went in on Black Friday. I got a call the last week of January that my chair was in and they scheduled the delivery for Jan 31. i have had the chair 10 days now. After the delivery men left, I tried it out and something seemed “off “. The chair they delivered looks like the chair I selected except it glides and swivels! I went back over my receipt and sure enough, the last 3 numbers of the model number do not match. I should have gotten the 510 model but they delivered the 530 model. I went back to using the old recliner because I didn’t like the new chair. I can’t believe it took me 10 days to figure this out! I will be reaching out to the furniture store when they open. Am I the only one this happens to?

No. The salesperson wrote in the wrong code for the chair. They will have to order the correct model. Expect they will want to pick up your chair so they can sell it. It happens!

The sales lady did write the correct model down on my receipt, so the error occurred on the manufacturer ‘s end. However, the furniture company didn’t notice the difference and went ahead and delivered it to me.

When we picked up our previous TV, we made sure to check the model number on the box against the model number on our receipt. While the TV they presented to us was the same size and manufacturer, it was an inferior model. We pointed it out to the guys who brought out the TV and they got mad. They said our model must've gotten switched with one out for delivery to another customer. We had to wait a little bit while they found another TV with the right model number.

Never blindly accept a delivery without checking the delivery against your receipt.

Not furniture but a glass door. I ordered a sliding glass door with grilles between the glass to mimic French doors. When it arrived it had the grilles but was also frosted glass. Uh, no! Thankfully, they had not done any work to dismantle the old sliding door. Manufacturer error as the order never had frosted glass. Had to wait another month for reorder and install.

My DD ordered a 2 piece sofa from West Elm back during Covid. It took a long time to arrive, and the 2 pieces did not match! They let her keep the wrong piece and just shipped a new one; again took a long time.

Ordered a new sofa in February 2020 and it was delivered just as everything was shutting down in March. The fabric was completely wrong. We had to hang onto it for 4 or 5 months, but the company did come through with the correct one. Order was written down correctly, but not entered in the computer ordering system correctly, apparently.

We ordered new Flexsteel sofa and loveseat in November and received the correct pieces with the fabric we selected. I guess we're fortunate we've never had an issue.

Yes. Bought a Loft Bed for our 3 year old daughter as a Christmas present. Came in a sealed box that fit in our Suburban, so we brought it home and wrapped it. Christmas morning, she opened it. Christmas afternoon when I went to assemble it, discovered it was bunk beds. Huge disappointment as she was hoping to sleep in her new bed that night. But 3 year olds are flexible, took it back the day after Christmas, and got the correct bed. They had just pulled the wrong one off the shelf. It was a good purchase as she slept in that bed for 25 years, and took it with her when she bought her own house. She cat sat a lot and she put it in the "cat" bedroom under the window so her guest kitties could look out the window into the backyard. Took it to Goodwill last year when she sold her house, 30 years use is pretty good.

I talked to the sales lady that helped me. She confirmed that everything at their end was done right and Flexsteel just sent them the wrong chair. They are coming, tomorrow, to pick the chair up. I also let her know that since they were going to have to redo the order, I would like to come in and pick out the next bigger size of recliners. I just got home from picking the new chair out. It will be the same beautiful blue. It will cost an additional $160 but well worth it to me! She wrote on the order to please expedite my order because they messed up the first time. Here is what the new chair will look like:

Glad you got the situation resolved, and get the opportunity to reconsider and make a bit of an adjustment. It will be worth it, Flexsteel quality is always great.

We purchased a Weber gas grill from Lowes. They delivered a Weber grill, but it was a higher-end, more expensive model. We called to inform them, and they asked if we were 'ok' with keeping it. I guess it would have been more work for them to have their drivers pick it up and swap the models.

I have a friend who ordered a fridge through Costco and it came damaged. They would not take it back said can only deliver. Then the next one came damaged and again said could not take it back. Finally the third one was fine and the others were taken back.

I just went through this with a Frigidaire refrigerator I purchased from P.C. Richards (East Coast national chain). Even though it was the fault of the manufacturer, PC Richards was great to work with. I had three deliveries of the same model, all with the same damage. I finally had to choose a different model.

I have a Weber grill and love it! How nice, for Lowe’s, to tell you that!

Yeah, I’ve had that happen to me too. Luckily, when it happened to me, it was still on the street and I told them I was not accepting it!
