So far the movies have been:
Spirited, Mafia Mamma and Sisu were movies that I probably would not have seen if not for attending the mystery movie.
Spirited because I am not a musical person, but still enjoyed the movie.
Mafia Mamma because it looked too silly but surprisingly did make it work.
Sisu because I had taken my wife to see John Wick 4, which she did not enjoy, and from the previews Sisu looked to be the same mindless gory violence. She said she ended up liking Sisu much more than John Wick 4.
The showings seem to be popular as there are way more people in the theater for the mystery showings then when I go to a known movie.
There is usually a lot of guessing online as to what the movie will be based on the released rating and run time together with peoples research into movies being released soon.
This past Monday I was happy to see a preview for Evil Dead Rise be shown as that was one of the suspected possible movies. I am not into horror at all and I don't think I would have enjoyed it. When the title of the movie was finally revealed the woman sitting a couple seats away gasped, Oh No! I don't think she was wanting the movie to be Sisu.
In any event I am looking forward to the next Mystery Movie on May 1st. The guesses now are Hypnotic, Fool's Paradise, The Machine, or Kandahar. I would be happy with any of those four.
