Hallmark Christmas Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

I'm really enjoying the Christmas commercial. It's like Winterland/Summerland Mini-Golf/Beach Boys Christmas all rolled into one. I've been binging Christmas movies since Sunday, lol. Sadly I had to return to work...no longer working from home, so I'm missing out. The Christmas movies leave me feeling relaxed and hopeful.

Can you record some of the ones you want to rewatch, to watch later, when you get home?

I've been doing that. I go through the channel guide to see which movies are going to be on, then hit record. Unfortunately, this year, I don't have as many movies lined up. As others have said, the newer movies from the past couple years seem to be flat and predictable clones of better, older Hallmark movies.

I don't like their need to crank out new Christmas movies each weekend, during the Christmas season, at the expense of better quality. If they were able to do BOTH: new movies and better quality, I'm all for it.

I really like Christmas with Holly with Eloise Mumford and was looking forward to The Baker's Son but I couldn't get into it. I didn't finish it, although I may try again. She was unrecognizable too, with short dark hair. I'm glad people liked To Catch a Spy. In general I prefer the mysteries and look forward to watching that one. I recorded it but haven't had a chance to watch.

I kind of enjoyed Sand Dollar Cove. I read an article that they filmed in March and it was actually really cold, so I think they did a good job considering.

With my luck, the kids would stop the recordings. But that's ok. Besides, I have to take the occasional Hallmark break as DH can only tolerate my watching so much. lol.

Tonight is the last night for Christmas movies on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel.

Starting tomorrow, Christmas movies switch to the regular Hallmark Channel for a couple weeks. :teleport:
(They won't be on 24 hours though. :( )

On Saturday, July 10, Hallmark premieres it's 2021 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament collection with over 250 new ornaments. Some of the new collectable ornaments are:

<drum roll>

Disney ornaments, :woohoo: also Star Wars, Harry Potter, the Peanuts cartoon characters, StarTrek, The Fast and the Furious car, Nintendo characters, and other sweet and cute Hallmark collectables.

Is it wrong to admit I already turned in my Wish List to my local store and will bring home my chosen ornaments Saturday? 😚 Off the top of my head I have Belle, Darth Vader, Minnie Mouse, a snowman series I collect, Falcon Captain America, his shield, Lego Darth & Stormtrooper...some are presents — for my son so they probably won’t leave the house as he doesn’t have room for a big tree yet 🤣

Sad. I'm at home in quarantine, isolated from the rest of my family. I was so counting on Hallmark Christmas movies to get me through. Still better than nothing.

You see one you've seen them all. All the plots are the same. Come on writers, get creative!

To also kick off the 2021 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament collection as well as Christmas in July, the Hallmark Channel will premiere one of it's 2021 Christmas movies. (So we do get a new movie during this month after all! 🎄 🤗 )

Crashing Through the Snow premieres Saturday night on the Hallmark Channel. It stars Amy Acker (of Person of Interest,) and Warren Christie, (who was in one of my favorite Hallmark movies, with Henry Winkler. I had hoped that Winkler would come back and do more Hallmark movies. But, since he won an Emmy for the TV show, Barry, and was nominated for multiple other awards for Barry, I think Winkler will be way too busy to ever do another Hallmark movie. Good for him!)

Here's a sneak peek at Crashing Through the Snow:

Watched “Crashing Through the Snow”. Enjoyed it. It’s predictable, but still feel good.

As a divorced parent, I appreciated this movie. A little weird that the step mother to be wanted to be friends with the mother but, I did not have a friendly relationship with my ex. Usually Hallmark ties the ending up in a nice bow but, how would they continue their relationship if he was a chef in Aspen and she lived somewhere else? Weird things I think about : )

As I watch another Hallmark Christmas movie I feel like I could create a bingo game for each film shot on the same backlot. The one with the cute, small (Christmas) town featuring a gazebo and Christmas tree at the end of the street. Watched one yesterday with it, one on right now, know if a few others with it too.

Don’t laugh, we figured out how to do this bingo with my family — just 4 cards. It helps the menfolk be more willing to watch if it’s a game 🤣 and it’s me and three fellas so...my little secret weapon 😚

People have actually created several drinking game cards for the hallmark movies. :teeth:

It would be easy to pick a couple out and print them up. Just right mouse click on an image, click "Save Image As", remember what folder you saved it to. When you click on the photo on your computer, there is usually a button to print out the page.

I actually like these more opened ended endings. They seem more realistic, even for a Hallmark movie, than one person uprooting their life after only knowing the other person and falling in love within a matter of weeks.

Tonight's Hallmark movie, Her Pen Pal, is a destination movie, set in Paris!

Interestingly, the four leads are neither American, Canadian or French. The actress, Mallory Jansen, is Australian. The leading man, (new to Hallmark movies,) Joshua Sasse is British. As well as Lachlan Nieboer. And the actress, Jayne Wisener, who plays the female lead's best friend is from Ireland.

The two leads were together in the musical TV series, Gallavant.

Preview of Her Pen Pal:

I liked Her Pen Pal. It could have had a better name. The two leads actually had some chemistry and sizzle between them. Most Hallmark movies seem like they are made to be shown at convents. I'm all for people falling in love with each other's minds and getting to know each other first. But, these are romance movies, it's nice when they have a bit of sizzle.

I was browsing the Amazon Prime movies & came across a couple of Hallmark/Lifetime movies I have already watched that I was sure had to be paid for, but now are free for Prime members.

This first one is an old Hallmark movie (that they won't show anymore on the Hallmark Channel): How to Fall in Love starring Brooke D'Orsay & Eric Mabius, (of the Signed Sealed & Delivered movies.) It is free at Amazon if one also subscribes to the streaming Hallmark Movies with them or does the free trial.

HOWEVER: the name of the movie has been changed to The Dating Coach and it is free to ALL Amazon Prime members.

How to Fall in Love is starting to air again on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel. I saw that it was on earlier today. No new date yet for when it will be on again. Everyone, keep your eyes peeled for it. :magnify:

I’ve gotten into the morning show on the Hallmark channel. Some of the projects they have done on the show look interesting and I’ve adapted some of the ideas into things I’ve done lately. When I saw the Ryobi glue gun I had to order one, already have a bunch of the Ryobi power tools.
