I just books the Grand Floridian Castle view for 12 people - is this worth the extra price? What has been your experience? Any suggestions for room locations?
Just got back from GF with Castle view. We were in Boca in room 9243. The view was great. Could hear the music on the night the wind was blowing our way. Watched the electric water pagent from the room every night and the fireworks. Only problem we had was some blockage from the smoke the fireworks caused. There are better buildings to stay in than Boca but we couldn't get moved due to the facility being full of conventioners. Enjoy!
I have booked a MK view room as well for upcoming christmas trip! I too hope it is a great view. It was quite pricey, but I just know it will be worth it!!!!
We have stayed in the main building at the GF several times with a castle/marina view Room 4404 and 4304. To me there is nothing like standing on the balcony with your family when the fire works are going off and the castle is changing colors and if the wind is blowing the right way you can hear the music. I get teary eyed every time. I can't wait to go back this April and experience that again. I think the Conch Key building has some theme park views as well. Maybe you can call and see which building they have you in. This way you have a better idea. The boat dock is another nice place to watch the fire works and the EWP. You will have a great time.

Oh that's too bad but like you said at least you will be able to sit and see the castle. That is a feeling that you just can't describe. Don't forget the boat dock. They have benches there where you can sit with your family and watch everything and you can take fabulous pictures from there as well. The beach is another great place to watch as well. Hope you all have a great time.

Just to clarify, it's a theme park view, not a castle view. Some of the rooms do look out towards the castle and others look towards Space Mountain. There's no way to guarantee a castle view.
Sago Cay and Conch Key are probably the best ones to request. Any rooms not yet renovated are due to be complete in a few weeks.

When we were there in February, we were in Big Pine Key and had a LV room, so we would go to Gasparilla's and get some snacks, and sit at the tables by the docks and look at the castle! I loved it! I cant imagine how it will be with a view on my balcony!!! Its been my DREAM to have a castle view from the GF, so Im super excited!!!!!

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news then. A specific view within a vew category is nothing more than a request. It will depend on the availability when you arrive. The only resort that will guarantee a castle view if you book that category, is the CR.

You are going to love it. Just think, waking up in the morning opening the curtains and seeing the castle. Also, if you are up during the night like I am looking out of the window and seeing the castle changing colors. That's heaven right there.
Here is a photo I snapped from the balcony in the room we had earlier this year.
We were in the main building, in Royal Palm, or something like that.
Just pure fluke we got this room. I booked a lagoon view room.

Nice picture. We were down a couple of rooms from you. Our room is always dead center of the castle. We normally stay in the main building but we can't for our April trip as I booked it too late. But we are in the SL and we can't wait.
