Gradventure is right around the corner, scheduled for May 8th. For those not aware, this is a Grad Bash-type event. The difference? It's for graduating 8th Graders. Schools all across Florida and nearby states have signed up to attend, including my own. I am beyond ecstatic.

We can arrive as early as 4 pm at the Universal Studios side of the park. They will be clearing the parks of any other guests at 5, and around 7 we'll be able to go into Islands through a back entrance(the same one used in Horror Nights.)

Major attractions will be open, while playgrounds will not. (This is a personal disappointment as I've been known to spend an eternity in Camp Jurassic.)
HRRR will not be open. :headache:

The official website can be found at universalorlando.com/gradventure

I was just wondering if anybody else was going?

They had Grad-bash last weekend.Mostly seniors.
Was told by A TM this weekend also..
Its good for the kids. The chaporones were wore out tho!!:lmao:

My son left today with his school for Grad Night. They attend the one on May 1 which is sold out. When you look at the schedule for the kids it is no wonder the teachers are so worn out. An 11 hour bus ride for us to get there, sleep one night go to park at 8:15 am go back to hotel at 3:30 to change for Grad Bash - be there from 7 pm until 2 am go back to hotel then get up at 7am to be at Disney by 9am to leave at 7 pm to get back on the bus for the 11 hour ride back home! - Thank goodness they told us parents we could not go. I am tired just reading all of this!

I love this board BTW - I am going to Universal with just my husband in July and SOOOOOOOOOO Looking forward to it!

Glad they empty the park and just this group is there. If you thought line cutting was bad on a normal day:rotfl2:

I am taking 64 eighth graders from my school in Kissimmee. Should be fun! We did Grad Jam at DHS last year, so Universal is new for us.

It's tomorrow. After months of counting down, it's finally here.
My school will probably be the only one with Copper shirts.

I hope everyone has a great time, as I'm sure I will!
On a sad not, Popeye's and Jurassic Park will be closed. :sad1:

Our eighth graders (and my 6 chaperones) had a lot of fun. Overall, I would go back to Disney for their Grad Jam if they brought it back. (We did Grad Jam last year, but Disney did not have an eighth grade event this year.) I liked that the lines at Disney were shorter - I felt bad that the kids paid all that money to have the park to themselves and lines were still 50-75 minutes for some rides.

I liked the chaperone lounge better than the one at Disney, but they needed to crank up the air in there! One thing that the kids really enjoyed was the water rides, since it was so hot on Friday.
