I wear a wide width size 7, so it's hard to find good sandals and shoes for walking. Any suggestions? (No Crocs, please - too ugly for my tastes)

I swear by the New Balance. Not too expensive, good support, and they have wide widths.

Thanks! Are New Balance sneakers? Where can I find them?

And of course, I'm open to more suggestions!

New Balance for me too- lots of room in the wides. Tons of diffrent styles for about anything!!!(I do wear Crocs too though so not sure how good my opinion is;) )!! Good luck!!

New Balance would be the best athletic shoe for you. They are one of the few brands out there that come in different widths. You can get a walking shoe or a running shoe. You can check them out online or you can find them at any running shoe store.

New Balance it is! Thanks, everyone!

Yes my husband has New Balance shoes and is hoping to buy another one before our Dec trip :) We bought them at Dunhams but any sports store should have them!

I have wide feet too and have tried everything for WDW and I have found crocs (as ugly as they are) to be the only shoes that don't give blisters. Good luck!!

I Agree!! I used to think that were the Ugliest things until I went to the Mall
with the Wrong shoes. I tried on a pair of Croc Clogs and it's AMAZING
at how more attractive they get!! I also have Wide Feet!!!
Now I won't wear anything else and my DH teases me about it.
I love my Crocs and they are the only thing I will wear to WDW
and not get Blisters!! Plus they dry out very fast after getting soaked on
the water rides (no wet sneakers or socks). They are easy to clean.
Every other person at WDW is wearing them so I just fit right in
and no one even notices. GO CROCS!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Nike Pegasus makes a wonderful, very light weight, tennis shoe that has a very wide toe box. I've tried several others and always go back to this shoe.

My DD7 has Crocs. I just cannot bring myself to wear them, no matter how comfortable they might be. Kudos to those of you who are brave enough to look past their...unique look. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the suggestions!

RYKA....these are the best shoes for wide feet...the best part is they are designed for a womans foot...a bit more narrow in the heel and lots of room for the tootsies...However, order 1/2 size larger than your regular shoe size...you will be in foot heaven!:worship:

...I wore Skecher's sneakers! WOW!!!! Extremely comfortable and they offer a lot of shoes in WIDE. I won't wear anything else now.

Really?? I've never seen Skechers in wide width! Where did you find them?

Ryka's are great! :thumbsup2 They can be hard to find though. Last time I was shoe shopping I only found one pair in wide, so I tried New Balance & fell in love!!! I brought both to WDW... the old Ryka's killed my feet and I got 2 blisters (they are just old & worn out) and I wore the NB every day after that without problems.

I have had really good luck with Born sandals. (I get the "regular" size, I don't think they carry wide ? , and they work great!). They have some great walking sandals that are also stylish. I also love my Asics Gel running shoes.

Happy Shopping!! :cool1:

I have wide feet as well. I usually alternate between my wide width Nike's and my Keds (come in wide and extra wide). I've tried New Balance as well, but Nike's work just a bit better for me. I like to wear the Keds on days when my feet might get wet (Kali River Rapids days, rainy days). Since they are canvas they dry faster. I hate wearing heavy wet sneakers.

I used to wear crocs more often, but I have found I can't wear them for extended periods of time when I am on my feet constantly. They are fine while I'm wearing them, and I don't get blisters, but the next day I get bad pains in the ball of my foot and in my knees. For shorter periods of time I am fine with them though. They are worth a try though. I just wouldn't do it at Disney.:)

My dh's feet are very wide...too wide for crocs :faint: He swears by New Balance. They come in 4 E widths. My kids also have wide feet and now wear New Balance too though Crocs will fit them. We know from experience that you cannot by wide width shoes on Disney property.

I love the Nike athletic flip flops. The stick to your feet so they are great for rides. They keep my feet cool and comfortable.
