Please, nothing depressing like Dying Young.;)

In trying to keep my DD laughing after her breakup, I've been loading up on funny chick flicks we can watch.

We watched Under The Tuscan Sun, which was a good uplifting one, yesterday.:thumbsup2

What are your suggestions?:)

Well I was going to suggest Love Actually--I just saw that and enjoyed it (but there is nudity)

While you were Sleeping is a very cute one--its a bit older but still cute.

Nudity is OK - she handles it well.;)

How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days
Sweet Home Alabama
Legally Blonde
Somethings Gotta Give
Bridget Jones Diary 1 & 2

I can think of more just not this early!

I just wanted to give the heads up on nudity!

Legally Blonde is cute as well --I just watched that the other day.

One of my favorites is Return to Me with David Duchovny & Minnie Driver

I don't know how old your daughter is, but I recently watched Material Girls and liked it a lot.

My dd's 20 yr olds favorite movie is Dirty love, Jenny McCarthy With It's a very funny movie , and great after a break up. She has given it to all her friends for their birthdays.

Here are a few that I love:

13 going on 30
Heaven Can Wait
When Harry Met Sally
Mr. Destiny
Heart and Soul

Hope she feels better soon!

I second Bridget Jones' Diary
also:
Ms. Congeniality
Notting Hill

need more coffee to think of more :surfweb:

Boys on the Side is a good girlfriends movie. Hope she feels better!

Hmmm, I also like Deliver Us From Eva, but that one is a romantic funny chick flick...

My other favorite not totally romantic chick movies are Bend It Like Beckham and Whale Rider. Whale Rider isn't a comedy, and makes me cry everytime but it isn't depressing.

Leaving Normal is a great chic flick. Stars Meg Tilley & Christine Lahti

The Wedding Singer
50 First Dates
(I am more of a drama/action/comedy chick myself, so I am not well-versed in "Chick Flicks", but that darn Adam Sandler has made a coouple of funny cute movies!)

Strictly Ballroom (great romance and ballroom dancing set in Australia -I think it was made in the 80"s)
Bride and Prejudice (Ballywood type movie)
Pride and Prejudice (either the miniseries or the more recent one)

I love My Best Friend's Wedding. Probably my favorite "chick flick" ever. I also like a more obscure one called Til There Was You, starring Dylan McDermott (from the Practice), Sarah Jessica Parker, and Jeanne Tripplehorn. It's different and quirky but also really sweet. :thumbsup2

Oops sorry just noticed the funny. These are not actually "laugh out loud" funny. But have comic moments.

An older one is Doc Hollywood with Michael J. Fox. DH and I watch it at least once a year--it's great for laughs!

Back to the Beach (a spoof of old beach movies, complete with Annette Funicello, Connie Stevens, and Frankie Avalon!

Clueless

Bull Durham

Dodgeball

My Fair Lady

O Brother Where Art Thou

Starsky and Hutch

Legally Blonde (I know everybody else has mentioned it, but it really is funny!)

Dirty Dancing
Sense and Sensibility, the Emma Thompson version
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Say Anything
Shakespeare in Love
