Free water park admission for just 1 overnight stay without park tickets?

Hello. I have a trip coming up next month and I realize that starting in January, resort guests get free water park admission on their arrival day.

My question is - I booked a resort and ticket package for a week, but had to add on a day before my trip staying at a different resort (Old Key West). That 1 night at OKW is just for the hotel only, no ticket package. Would I still get free access to the water parks that day?

Potentially. It depends on your/your party's interests and plans. That free waterpark day can only be used on check-in date for each resort, it can't be held for another day during your stay.
Yes, true. For me, I'd never use it. And our stay at All star sports didn't start until 7 pm, so that would be worthless. But if it was a trip with grandkids, I'd rather say we'd do this and that but as we move to next resort, lets plan to go to waterpark.

DW and I are arriving on April10 for 2 nights at POR and then Our DS, DIL and the 2 Grand Princesses 6 and 3 will join us on the 12 th at Boulder Ridge. Our arrival on the 10th will be late morning so we will take advantage of this perk for sure.

So... if i was booking a night at a time (left it later and am stalking dvc for availability) if i booked 28/29/30 as separate bookings but was staying in total 28-31 i would technically get access on 3 days...🧐

Yup. Now on my Disney experience under future plans, it is showing water park admission on both resort check in days.

Sorry to hijack this thread but looking for some more clarification on this. I understand that you get free waterpark access on split stays when changing resorts, but does anyone know whether you definitely get access if you have separate reservations at the same resort? For example, we have 2 nights at Copper Creek coming up. Last week I managed to add an extra night but I booked it as a separate reservation rather than tagging it onto our existing reservation. The 'splash into a water park' message that I can see above my first check in date at CC does not appear above our 3rd night (technically a second check in) at CC, despite the fact that it is a separate booking. It's almost as though Disney is not acknowledging it as a new check in date because we are not moving resorts. For our fourth night we are moving to Kidani, which does show the 'free water park' message. It's got me thinking whether you can't actually use the water park for free if you are checking out and checking back into the same resort? Only if you are moving resorts?

Yup. Now on my Disney experience under future plans, it is showing water park admission on both resort check in days.

Is that for the same resort, or two different resorts?

If they are 2 separate reservations with 2 different reservation numbers — yes. There is no guarantee to remain in the same room and you technically need to check-out and re-check-in again, though they try to keep you in the same room.

If you added another night to a reservation but kept the same reservation number — then no.

Are you possibly booked on DVC points and Member Services combined the reservations?
