We will be staying at HRH for the Christmas week and was bummed when one of my co-workers said "dont plan on it being warm for that week"

What???? I want warmth and pool weather...what's up?
Does anyone know the average temp during that week? I may have to change my paking plans....:headache:

It's really hard to say.

I've been in early December to late January when it is very warm - T-shirts and shorts weather. I've even been able to use the pool in January.

I've also been when it is very cold and I needed a jacket all day.

So far this year Florida has been unusually warm, at least for September/October.
I go to the food and wine festival every year and this is the only time I recall it has been 80s and 90s for almost the entire 2 weeks.

I would expect 55-65 in the am and then 70-80 mid day, but it could be warmer this year.

I would normally wear shorts and a light jacket when I am there in December/January, but I'm from New England.

It does get very cool at night so be prepared for that.

The weather in Orlando can vary greatly from day to day with highs on one day in the low eighties, and in the 60's the very next day.

Here's a link to an Orlando tv news station with a link to their local weather: http://www.wesh.com/index.html.

the weather in orlando during december is always better than what it is for me in northern illinois.

it does not snow in orlando in december...........

we've gone down Christmas week and are going again this year...I've not found the weather to be too cold. The pool at the HRH is heated and we all swim during the dive-in movies. With that said I was in Florida years ago and they were covering the plantings at the CB for frost. But I believe as a rule it is fairly nice. (compared to CT that time of year).

We have gone between xmas and new year quite a few times and it varies the years that stickout in my mind for cold/wet weather are below

2000 the temp was very cold for quite a few days- below/ near zero for most of the time even at 1pm the temp was only 4oC early/late it was below that with an even cooler windchill. We had to scrape the ice of the car twice!! and needed hats/gloves on a lot! We went to DC and it was so cold you counld not stand on the sand- we only stayed a few hrs as children were so young and were starting to turn blue!

Another year 2003 (i think) the temp sat between 58-65oC but on xmas eve there where tornados and my parents plane had to divert to tampa and made 3 landing attempts. Then a week later on new years eve there were more. Very unusual for that time of year.

2007 a few cool days after new year had to wear gloves/ warm jackets in early am late pm but got to about 58-60 by mid day. New years eve rained all day long with thunder and torential rain - where were we again- DC!!!!

Waring may be that we intend to go back to DC on jan 4th so with our luck if anyone else is going that day prepare for a cold wet day!

on the same holidays as the above we also needed t-shirts etc for the other days (except 2000 when we only had t-shirts on for 2 days out of 14- the day we arrived 26th and the 27th -80oC after that temp plumeted and stayed low for rest of our hols). On saying that it is still my fav time of year to be in orlando
