Fireworks parties

I am looking to book a firework/dessert party as an extra for our honeymoon and am struggling with which one to go with. At this point I am torn between the Ferrytale Fireworks and Celebrations At the Top. I know Celebrations is probably more our speed (less kids etc) but I love the idea of watching from the lake. Any experiences with either would be appreciated!

If this will be your first time seeing Happily Ever After it is best seen in front of the castle. You will miss A LOT of the projections if your view of the castle is blocked. We love the Plaza Garden Viewing DP. You eat your desserts in the Tomorrowland upper terrace and then move to the garden in front of the plaza to watch the fireworks. It is the best way to secure an amazing view!

Does the Plaza Garden Viewing DP have a good view of the castle to see the projections as well?

Yes!!! It's honestly the best view you can get without having to stand in front of the castle fighting to reserve your spot for over an hour. It's so nice to eat desserts and then walk over to the garden about 30 minutes before they start. Most people will try to find a spot at the front of the garden, so when the fireworks start they all move as close to the front as possible, but we stay in the back and lean against the back railing.. that way you (usually) don't have someone standing directly in front of you.

We did a fireworks cruise (the pirate one) for valentines day once as that was all they had left available when we called to book. It honestly wasn't that great. I do think partially because it was more geared towards kids, but also the ferry had all these bars and support beams on it and a roof that got in the way of the viewing. We had to duck and bend to see some of the fireworks and we wouldn't have been able to see projections at all; we went back when it was Wishes so there were no projections. I definitely recommend the Cali Grill/At the Top experience or like Lurkyloo said, the Plaza Garden party. Those will give you way better views of everything!

This is such great advice, thank you! Are ADR's hard to get for this?

Thanks for the great info and advice! Does the DP at Tomorrowland get really crowded? I think this may be our best option, we have a dinner planned at the Grand Floridian for later in the week and are planning another in AK so it may be nice to be a little less formal and not have to worry about running back to the resort to change for CG. Thanks again, I love this forum!

They don't always load the reservations for the dessert parties at 180 days like all of the other restaurants, so often you have to keep checking, but I've never had an issue booking once they do open. The plaza garden Viewing has become a little more popular than the Terrace version because of the better view from the garden. You watch the show from your dessert party table at the Terrace party. We did the Terrace party the first time I saw Happily Ever After and I was so disappointed that I couldn't see hardly any of the projections.

It's not that crowded. The tables are a little close in the upper portion of the Terrace (where you eat the desserts), but the Garden didn't feel crowded at all. It's nothing compared to being apart of the sardines on Main Street. I think it's a really fun, casual way to end the night without having to fight the Main Street crowds.

We may be talking about different events. lol. I am on their website and they don't mention garden viewing at all, only Tomorrowland terrace. It says after dessert you will be escorted to your seats on the patio. These are the DP options they list on their site:
So you did the Tomorrowland DP and didn't like it?

Interesting... when I go to the website and click "dessert events" it pops up right under the "Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace." It's listed as "Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing" Here's the link:

We used to do the Terrace one every trip for Wishes because we liked having a table. We did it the first time we saw Happily Ever After, and then watched the show another night from the garden in front of Casey's and it was like we were watching a completely different show. I felt like I missed half of the show when we watched it from the Terrace.

That is bizarre. The only way I can see it is if I go to Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. There it shows me 2 options, the standing garden view or seated patio. So weird! Thanks so much for the link and the advice!
