Extended Evening Hours

Very true! I'm staying at a Deluxe just because I want to do an Epcot extra evening and it's a waste of money to me if I can't.
I'm going to book a backup reservation at a value while the spring discount is still available and cancel one or the other when my trip get's close and I see the hours.

You might want to see if there’s an Epcot After Hours Event during your stay and do the math as to whether tickets to that might be cheaper than upgrading to a deluxe just for EEH. I have found that at Epcot, evening extra hours are usually SO much more crowded than a regular evening at Epcot. We have DVC so qualify for EEH, and we avoid those nights like the plague.

Really? It doesn't seem crowded to me as World showcase is shut down which alleviates a lot of people.

Maybe we’ve just had bad luck? But every time we go to Epcot on an EEH day, it’s way more crowded than a non-EEH day. Now, we’ve never tried staying past 10pm, mainly because it was so crowded it wasn’t worth the aggravation, so maybe it lightens up later?

Sorry I misunderstood. I meant it wasn't crowded during the EEH time. We usually hop to EEH park later in the day.

Yes the parks clear out considerably when the EEH actually start

We’ve never tried staying past that first hour of EEH, based on our experience from 9-10pm. During regular hours on a non-EEH day, it feels way less crowded and we seem to get more done using LLs, so DH has never been willing to push past the crowded time in hopes that it would get less crowded. Maybe I’ll be able to convince him to give it a try some trip, maybe if we don’t arrive until at least 10pm it might not seem so overcrowded.

Does anyone know if you can still access the rides during EEH if you checked out of your deluxe resort the same morning? This is for someone doing that but not leaving FL until very late and after EEH ends so they want to take advantage of it if they can. The Disney Planning Blog says this will be fine but the answers were not as recent as I'd like them to be given how rules change so often.

Basically two from our group are checking out of their SSR room on a Wednesday morninig where there are EEH at MK that night. They want to do the parks all day and attend EEH at MK, being able to ride rides, that night before they leave. I know resort benefits last until midnight the day of checkout but this kind of isn't a resort benefit depending on how you look at it I guess. Just want to confirm they don't need another night to ride at EEH that night.

No it works and is considered a Deluxe Resort benefit.

I believe you have access on day of check out though we are always on the road home very early and have never tried this ourselves

They will be fine. You are considered a guest until Midnight on your checkout day.
