Good greetings all! My Disney-virgin gf and I are going down to WDW in November and it is my plan to ask her to forever be my Princess on our first night there at CRT. That is all planned out and she has NO clue, but my question to this esteemed group of Disthusiats is this... is there any sort of "engagement" ears (like the bride & groom ears) out there, or do you have any suggestions? I would feel kind of odd wearing the B&G ears (at least until we've EARNED them! ;) ) but... I would like to get something to recognize this momentous event for us.

TIA!

Wulf

There are pink and blue ones that look just like the bride ears.. There might be a "Just engaged" pin? I hope someone else can help you more.

first off, WELCOME to the boards! you will find a lot of great people and info here! so ask questions! no, there are not engagement ears, but some ppl do wear the bride and groom ears anyway. you can always have t shirt made that say like "just engaged" or "engaged at the castle" or soemthing like that if you felt funny wearing the ears. good luck!

Ahhh.. I love the fact that you are proposing at disney - I am sure she will delighted!! Maybe you could have ears made and have "Soon to be Mrs. Wulfie" embroidered on the back ? (Ofcourse, feel free to put your real last name on the hat - lol). Congrats and good luck!!

Welcome and congratulations! My fiance' proposed at WDW last fall, and we were surprised to find out that there was really nothing to indicate engagement (ears, buttons, etc.). (There is a very cute pin of Mickey down on one knee "proposing" to Minnie that we bought to put on our backpacks. It can be hard to find, but we got ours at the large open-air pin stand just inside Epcot.) If I remember correctly, there used to be a "Congratulations" button that covered a variety of special occasions, but the new line doesn't include anything like that. :confused3 A very sweet guy in concierge at our hotel insisted we "needed to be wearing something." We told him it was fine, but he literally chased us down and started putting the "Just Married" buttons on us. :lmao: We weren't really comfortable with that, but he made us promise not to take them off and apologized that it was the best he could do. So we thanked him and made do - immediately found a black Sharpie (also not easy to find!) and wrote "Engaged to be" above the "Married" and scratched out the "Just." It was pretty amusing to look at, but at least we didn't feel like we were cheating. ;) Our scratched out and rewritten buttons made for a great memory and keepsake, but since you have the advantage of knowing beforehand, I would suggest making your own. You can design your own buttons at Zazzle for about $1.50 each and write whatever you want. And either Zazzle or VistaPrint does t-shirts too. The ears are a bit more tricky. We thought about embroidering "Future Mrs." on the back of the classic Mickey ears, but they will only embroider first names at WDW. (Interestingly enough, you can't even put Grandma or anything. I do know several people who have bought the ears and had them embroidered outside of Disney World, which may be an option for you. You could buy them online and have them embroidered at home. Just be sure to hide them really well in the luggage!) Good luck! :)

My Dfi and I were engaged at Disney last fall too and I too was surprised that as many people that get engaged there that there isn't more "engagement" memorabilia to buy. I asked at the MGM Guest Relations if they had a "Just Engaged" button but they didn't (although they were very excited for us, especially since the CM and I had been proposed to at the same place). She gave us a "Just Married" button which we kept but didn't wear as we didn't want to take away from the couples that actually did get married there.

The one thing I wish I had known was you can get engraved glass slippers at Arribas Brothers at Downtown Disney. I would have gotten one of those with the date of the engagement engraved on it as they're not that expensive and it's a great way to remember that day.

Thank you all for the welcomes and replies... anyone else have input? What about something else, outside of the parks that I could bring down with me or have made?

We just returned from WDW and my boyfriends sons girlfriend got Princess Ears. Pink felt hat, with pink ears, a tiera on top and pink netting hanging from the top. That would be great for her - not sure about you. They need prince ears.

Love the ears idea, and what about a glass slipper like Laura got (princessdisneybelle)? It is in her TR and it is sooo gorgeous, you could have it engraved and put the ring in it, even though she wouldn't be able to really wear it. GL!! And congrats!! How exciting!!

What size are the "just married" buttons? I think, considering their lack of Engagement items, that I will make my own and just bring them along. Are they 3" round or 2 1/4"?

Thanks!

When we got engaged we bought our bride and groom ears and wore them... we will use the same ones on our honeymoon. They did have congratuations buttons at that time so we wore those as well and we just corrected anyone who asked wehn we got married. The Mickey proposing to Miney pin we had to but that was because my DF gave it to me right before he proposed.

Good luck

Do they still sell those "Mickey proposing to Minnie" pins down there? If so, where? (Mind you, we'll be going to MK our first 1/2 day and the "big dinner" is that night so getting a few minutes to run off to another park to get one would be rough... or I'll have to order one online).

Thanks!

You can get them at the Emporium at MK. I saw them a few weeks ago.

Thank you! I'm still hoping that someone can give the size of the "just married" buttons...

Thanks!
