Hi,
We are going to HHI and staying at Disney's resort there for a few days in October. We haven't stayed there in along time, so I'm wondering what the options are for beach chair rentals? Does the resort rent them? If not, does anyone have the pricing for the rentals on the beach?

thanks,
Dee

The Town of Hilton Head handles the beach chair and umbrella rentals and employs the lifeguards at the beach, through the company linked below. I'm not sure when they close up shop but I 'think' it's some time in October.

Found this: 2021 they closed down Oct 23, 2021.

We pack our own but we drive. You can also pick up some chairs at local stores, CVS, Walmart, etc.

Thanks. We are flying and we are arriving the 19th, leaving the 23rd. I hope we still have beach weather, because I'm a beach bum! We are waitlisted for early October, but my wait lists never come through so I'm not holding out much hope :)

We head to HHI next week and were looking into rentals. Did you end up renting from this location? How was it? Were you able to charge to the resort (the website says some places you can do that)?

Thanks for the resource!

The beach rentals on the actual beach are through the lifeguard stand. Have fun!

So we are not going to HH in October. I changed the reservation and we instead, are going to WDW. GF for two nights and Riviera for two nights! Therefore, I cannot answer the question about beach chair rentals. When you find out though, would you mind posting back here so we know for the future?

Thanks and have a great trip!

Just for a little more clarity, as mentioned you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas through HHI's Shore Beach Services (see the link a few posts above). They will stop sometime in mid- to late-ish October, though I don't know of any particular date for this year. There may be other rental companies, but I'm unaware of them. This particular service is rather pricey, though it requires very little effort other than making the reservations and showing up at the beach. Very easy to do. The current rate is $40 for one day for an umbrella and 2 chairs. Each consecutive day after, the price drops accordingly. Still, it won't be inexpensive. Many folks opt to buy inexpensive gear at a local Walmart or Kroger, etc., and if you can't take them with you, then you can pay it forward to another family and leave them at the resort or the Beach House even.

If anyone looks at the HHI link on the DVC website, keep in mind the information isn't particularly up to date. For instance, there is no video arcade at the Beach House--it hasn't been there for several years. Instead, they do have a pool table, foosball, and pingpong, as well as a corn hole set up. There is no "big screen" TV in the Surfmen's Station, unless you consider 32" big. Moreover, the site still lists Signals quick service at the Beach House which is incorrect. While you can get a variety of foods at the Beach House, Signals is no longer, technically, where you place your order--you do that at Surfman's Sand Bar and they deliver to your chair or table. I do believe you can sit in the old Signals area and refill your mugs there, however. All this to say, know before you go not based on what the Disney website tells you. pirate:
