We will be traveling the same route at the same time from the same state. What town will you be staying in? What time will you be leaving in the morning to beat DC traffic? Do you think traffic will be bad out of NJ with teacher's convention travelers? You can PM me.
I agree with Robert P. Should take right at 3 hours. This factors in some construction on 95 and moderate traffic on I-4. Depending on the time of day you may want to take 295 around Jacksonville. If you stay on 95 through Jacksonville be careful to stay in the left lane as you are required to exit to the left to stay on 95.
On a Saturday I hit the Florida border at 5:52 pm. I arrived in Disney at 8:25 pm. It was 187 miles and 2 hrs 33 min. On a Sunday morning it should take about this long or less.
I have the times and distances for each state from New York to Florida if you are interested
Hey, tardin1964 - we'll probably be right behind you on I-95 that morning, heading for the same place. Look for us in line at check-in at WL!
When we last made the trip in 1997, we stayed in Kingsland, GA (exit 3, right about at the FL/GA border). We left our motel at 7:30 AM and were walking into the CR lobby 3 hours later.
I would really like those driving times as well...we are driving from Maine to Disney in May. We are also staying the first night in Kingsland.
Which hotel did you choose in Kingsland? What is your usual hotel stops on the way home? I seem to have the going down all set but not sure what to do on the way back. I think we may break it up into a few days...
I drove to Disney for the first time back in July. We left at 2:00 am and drove straight through. I live on Long Island about 80 miles east of New Jersey.
I made up a trip report sheet and kept track of the miles and times in each state. We arrived at Disney at 8:25 pm. I posted a trip report here but Im unable to bring it up.(or I just don't know how) Total miles were 1170. Total time down 18hrs 25 min. Total time coming back 17 hrs 20 min.
jann1033, Im not to fimiliar with Ga or SC, but 6 hours from Disney put us somewhere near the middle of SC. From the GA-SC border it was 4 hrs 33min to Disney.
Here are the numbers for each state;
New Jersey- 99 miles 1hr 22min
Delaware- 18 miles 16 min
Maryland- 109 miles 1hr 57min (31min delay, traffic/gas)
Virginia- 182 miles 2hrs 31min
North Carolina- 184 miles 3hrs 17min (2 stops gas/bathroom)
South Carolina- 197 miles 3hrs 16min(2 accident delays)
Georgia- 114 miles 2hrs (30min stop food/gas)
Florida- 187 miles 2hrs 33min
Hope this helps, I'd be glad to answer more questions if I could.
GA to JAX is 1 1/2 hours and Daytona Beach to WDW, I-4, is the same. Sunday moring you should be able to fly. If you are going to MK, MGM, FW, WL take exit 64B. Mileage signs are from Tampa to DB, so you can figure how many mile you have left.
Gas up in GA as they are much cheaper then FL 1.45-1.55 Reg.
