Dream in December - Electronics Questions

We are getting excited to sale the Dream for Christmas on 12/22. I've read that there are few outlets, so bring a "pig tail" extension cord with multiple outlets.

I also read a review on another website that said their Dream stateroom only had 220V "round" outlets so they couldn't plug in any typical US 110V plugs. Is this true? What do I need to bring to ensure we can charge cameras, ipods, etc.

Lastly, I read one review that said their was a hair dryer in the room and another that said they were disappointed because their wasn't a hair dryer. Any tie breakers out there? I'd rather not haul a hair dryer with me.

There are 110V outlets in the cabin, only 1 or 2 but they are there. We found the hair dryer in the desk drawer in our cabin on the Dream.

Hi Yes outlets are sparse so pack accordingly. All cabins have a hairdryer if yours is missing ask your cabin steward. Plugs will do either 110 or 220 and do have a different shape but are fine for NA electronics. We charged ipads, phones, cameras etc with no issues. have a great trip!

We took along a power strip and that worked well. As the pp said, the hair dryer was in the desk drawer. I personally really liked the hair dryer a lot better than my own too.

I actually read a trip report somewhere and they said they were surprised all the outlets were European. They were unable to charge any of their devices.
The outlets are universal. They accept both voltages and shapes in the same hole. That is what confuses many folks. Hope this helps the masses. This was on one of the newer ships obviously.

There's indeed a 220 volts-only European outlet on the right-hand side on top of the desk, but also a U.S. plug to the left.

You can find a universal 110/220V outlet just below that little nightstand where the iPod dock is.

As shown above in the pics there is a round outlet that is to be used for the hairdryer....there is also a notice in the cabin that the hairdryer provided should only be plugged into that outlet. It was located in the top drawer at the end of the desk and was in a cloth bag...even had a different tip if you needed that.

The hairdryer provided on the Dream is a full size normal hairdryer.....I forgot that the Dream had these and packed my own but never used my own onboard since this one worked great.

The hair dryers on the Magic/Wonder are those vacuum hose type ones and I hate those but the Dream has a real hairdryer.

There are other outlets to plug in curling iron, camera chargers, phone chargers, etc. We always bring a power strip so I can charge multiple things at once. The Wave phones use one of the outlets so I would used the power strip so I did not have to unplug the Wave phone from its outlet.

If you don't bring a power strip, it's not that big of a deal. We had a lot of electronics with us - we just alternated what we charged, and we were fine.

Unfortunately, I have sleep apnea, which requires me to travel with a CPAP that I must plug in near the bed. Are there any outlets within 5 or 6 feet of either side of the bed in a veranda stateroom or do I need to bring an extension cord?

Thank you all for the very informative replies! You have reduced my Christmas stress 10 fold! Now I know what to expect and can pack accordingly. So glad I found this forum.
